Cellular Discussion [Split from] Bugs and Calculations

I've seen weird ideas in this thread (and in others). Sometimes it's hard to see what is sincere and what isn't.

    ... we're still alive!

I would just like to note that most bugs at the beginning of Pulseaudio were due to buggy sound drivers (or whatever PA used) and not Pulse itself.

    ... we're still alive!

I don't know what people are doing. My configuration file is (excluding comments) just "flat-volumes = no" and I never had any problem of any kind.

How to calculate a price for the Pyra

This is a million, 10^6. The development costs should be around 10^5. I would call the upper limit a pretty conservative guess.

No, the tablets are not really locked to Windows, as far as I understand. Changing the boot procedure doesn't seemed that hard, somebody did it. The only problem is, that this represents some serious kernel development. Somebody managed to modify a Fedora distribution to run on certain of these...

    The tests continue...

Turn off everything except the CPUs. Design a program such that it contains a loop which fills exactly the code cache and have it contain nothing which would produce an interrupt, allow OoOE or any other of those things. Done I suppose.

    An almost naked Pyra

Basically, any electrical conductor is also a good thermal conductor. Don't ask me why exactly.

As far as I know, fbdev is the old linux interface and DRM is the future (TM).

    An almost naked Pyra

Concerning /dev/fb0. I suppose the best solution would be to use DRM instead.
