    New approach to Pyra Phone

It would probably be most sensible to use the OMTP TRRS standard which is what Samsung uses rather than Apple's

    Pyra: USB Serial port security

Maybe it's best not to just go around putting random things in random holes with no protection; thats how you get STDs.

    Pyra dock connections.

Scene groups aren't really a practical measure of what's reasonable for the majority of people though, 9000Kbps bitrate video is just as ridiculous as storing your videogame collection in 14.4MB RAR archives.

Emulator brings x86 Linux apps to ARM devices

This thread reminds me of this beast: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amiga_Sidecar It's a shame we don't get stuff like that anymore.

What would you like to see?

There's a partial port of Blood to EDuke32, I've not tried it but IIRC the first two episodes are playable. I don't think it'll be finished anytime soon though: http://www.moddb.com/games/bloodcm/downloads

    Pyra dock connections.

Pretty much all the 720p movies I've seen are 700-900 MB and 1080p are usually 1.4 to 1.9 gigs. MP4 containers, x264 codec and 23.976 fps. It seems to be pretty much the defacto standard.

Is there any way to permanently hide a topic? I am SO tired of caring corner.

You could write a script for the greasemonkey browser extension/plug-in?

What would you like to see?

There's a lot of stuff you can do with a Pandora due to it's size and form that's impractical with a smartphone or where a netbook is too large. You don't necessarily have to run things directly on the device; there's always 4G dongles and VNC-ing into a machine you've set up at home.

Aesthetic Criticism of the Pandora (split from What would you like to see thread)

There's something satisfying about tactile and audio feedback thats missing from a lot of modern devices. Typewriters, mechanical keyboards, bolt-action rifles, toggle switches, zippo lighters etc all have a charm about them thats hard to explain but the Pandora going for a physical volume wheel...

Trolling? If you don't want to discuss regional pricing at GOG with me then don't reply to my posts. Not everyone who disagrees with you is a 'troll'.

    GOG.com

Of course it's reasonable to compare whole countries, the simple fact that two countries use different currencies with different exchange rates is reason enough; nevermind all the other factors we've discussed. There's a international Forex market that exists and operates without even dealing in...

    GOG.com

You said earlier that comparing capitals isn't representative of an entire country and is just another arbitrary method of comparison so why are you now using it as evidence to suggest GOG's pricing is unfair? Which is it? Do you think comparing captials is reasonable or not? Because you cannot...

They list as wide a range of consumer goods/services as is reasonable to get an accurate picture of all segments of society. The single CPI rating as I've said, does not and isn't supposed to be used solely as a single point of comparison which is why they give you all the data that is used in...

Steam Machines, Almost One Year Later

I was interested in the article and I wouldn't have have come across it if it wasn't posted here. Just because they wrote it doesn't mean they shouldn't post it for others to discuss. Would people complain if he posted it and didn't write it? Also consider that him writing it has the added bonus...

    Huh? (ZX Speccy Vega crowdfunding)

An FPGA virtually is the real hardware, that ZX Uno isn't emulating a Spectrum. An FPGA is a chip that you can alter the circuit of so you can reconfigure its circuits to the Speccy's circuits. But it also allows you to modify it slightly so if you wanted to run a Speccy through a HDMI port...

iCP2: They're throwing in the towel.

That would require an insurer to underwrite the entire project though, meaning that it would be more sensible for project to not be on kickstarter at all and the insurance company to directly invest for a stake. I think the best solution would be to force projects over a certain amount to form...
