    As the current closest thing to a kid here Trust me when I say Scratch scratch.mit.edu (also available in the Repo, but its slow as hell even on my 1ghz)

    I would start with Apple Script. Yes it only works on Apple computers but its so high level that anyone can learn it. Also scratch (which runs kn the Pandora)
