    Firefox recommended add-ons on Pandora

I just have Adblock Plus and NoScript currently. I like the functionality of Ghostery, but I'd strongly advise against using it on the Pandora - uses way too much memory.

Not too much Pandora lingo. No one will know what PanDebian is.

    Pandora pkg-config strangeness (codeblocks PND)

Ok, I'll try that. I have another question for ptitSeb, while I'm at it (different topic) - I have noticed that some changes from the codeblocks PND seem to leak over into the global environment (ldconfig, possibly?): When the codeblocks PND is open, other PNDs start to pick up libraries from...

    Pandora pkg-config strangeness (codeblocks PND)

I'll keep that in mind for the future... Unfortunately, $prefix is not something I can choose to change in this context, as those files are generated automatically... I'll just fix them up with a hardcoded path for now, sed to the rescue... Despite that small mishap, thanks a lot for creating...

    Pandora pkg-config strangeness (codeblocks PND)

Argh  That cost me a couple of hours of useless bug hunting (including an embarrassing bug report with the VLC people, who told me that 1) it's not their fault, 2) I'm dumb, and 3) my build system is broken)... Turns out they were right ;) No worries though, should have asked earlier...

    Pandora pkg-config strangeness (codeblocks PND)

Ok, so I'm somewhat stumped currently, as pkg-config from /mnt/utmp/codeblocks/usr/bin/pkg-config produces broken info... I have (for example) a .pc file with the following content: prefix=/mnt/utmp/codeblocks/home/src/vlc-2.0.5/contrib/native exec_prefix=${prefix} libdir=${exec_prefix}/lib...

    Release VLC 2.0.5

http://repo.openpandora.org/?page=detail&app=vlc2-2QDG [edit] updated for release 2 After removing the pkg-config wrapper from codeblocks, VLC builds much more cleanly. I had to touch mabe half a dozen of the rules.mak files in contrib/src with minor fixes. Main change in this release is that...

My Touch Screen Just Quit Working For No Reason!!!!

Don't panic :) It's perfectly normal that the lid doesn't close 100% on the left side, as the hinge is just fixed on one side. There should be no visible hump in the cover though...

VLC 2 vs. alsa & SDL

Ok, got a working version with xcb support, thanks to the codeblocks PND. It's slower than SDL, but now video can be played in the main window, and all the UI elements work. I get errors with the LUA and http plugin, though. Sound is still wonky - it works when video decoding is fast enough (on...

What if we back up a bit and make it more incremental?

Tbh, for me, the Pandora is almost perfect as is. For a small evolution (P 1.5) I'd consider just three main points: Slightly higher screen resolution (1024 x something would be great), an integrated USB hub to get rid of the problems with HID devices and such directly on the main USB port, and...

My Touch Screen Just Quit Working For No Reason!!!!

Did you check if maybe something is stuck behind the display bezel in a way that permanently triggers the touch screen?

Unable to resolve names while DUN tethered. [Solved]

Argh. On a freshly installed SZ 1.52, /etc/resolv.conf is a symlink to /var/run/resolv.conf - and the logic in 08setupdns can only work as long as that is the case. I'm pretty shure that before I reinstalled the system a couple of days ago, my /etc/resolv.conf was a real file. No idea how or...

Unable to resolve names while DUN tethered. [Solved]

Right - I noticed BTDUN doesn't seem to update resolv.conf, too. I just created a matching file to copy over the one generated by Network Manager. Usually, pppd gets nameserver information when logging in... Didn't have a look at the BTDUN code, but in theory, enabling usepeerdns in pppd and...

    i can't empty trash

Ok, false alarm obviously - did a reinstall of SuperZaxxon and the updater works fine.  Only thing I can think of that might have changed my feed config on the old system is the ipkg installer from the cdevtools PND... Will have a look at that later tonight.

    i can't empty trash

Small side question - does that work for anyone? I ran an upgrade yesterday, and it started fetching a lot of Angstrom packages. Came back this morning to an "upgrade failed" message (couldn't read the logfile because I couldn't start a terminal anymore) - and am now left with a system that...

    Porting Android apps to SuperZaxxon

Only slightly related, but does anyone know how the "Blackberry Runtime for Android apps" for BB10 works and if there is some open source component behind it that could be reused? (https://bdsc.webapps.blackberry.com/android/bpaa/)

New 95MB/s SanDisk SD card. Results.

The SoC revision used in CC Pandoras had a bug which could lead to data corruption when copying between the two SD slots. As far as I know, the workaround was to throttle transfer speed in the driver. This isn't required with GC Pandoras anymore.

VLC 2 vs. alsa & SDL

Hm, ok... The other option would probably be xcb, but it seems there are no xcb libs in the Pandora Angstrom feed. I'll try portaudio though to see if that makes a difference for the sound.

VLC 2 vs. alsa & SDL

In the past couple of days, I've been dabbling with a build of the VLC 2.0.5 sources (which is terribly botched for an environment like cdevtools, where things are not where they usually are). I now have a working binary, but it's not really better in any way than the existing VLC 1.x on the...
