Release Qemu for Pandora (for rebirth competition)

A key mapping driver inside qemu (i.e. installed in DOS) wouldn't work. Same problem as doe DOSBox. It has to do with the problem that unmodified and modified key values cannot be mapped correctly at the same time. I think a more detailed explanation of the problem can be found in the...

Release Qemu for Pandora (for rebirth competition)

looking more deeply into the files and comparing them (~/.pndXmodmap from my Pandora and the "en-us" keymap file of qemu), I fear it's easier to generate a new qemu pandora keymap from scratch. The qemu keymap file only has a few entries for special characters, the remaining stuff seems to be...

Release Qemu for Pandora (for rebirth competition)

Those XModmap files have a completely different format. The first line of qemu's keymap files, "# generated from XKB map de", suggests that there is a converter from XKB (=xmodmap) files to qemu keymap files. However, in the source tree of qemu 1.5.1 I could nto find such a converter. But maybe...

Release Qemu for Pandora (for rebirth competition)

ingo, mcobit, when scanning the command line options for qemu (qemu --help), I stumbled upon this one: -k language use keyboard layout (for example 'fr' for French) So this probably means, that qemu has some key mapping code built-in. If so, it should be possible to creeate a mapping...

Release Qemu for Pandora (for rebirth competition)

oh, so this problem of doubled arrow keys is also present in other applications / games? So far I thought it would only be present in my cpack application! Thanks for your hint, tried to execute qemu manually from the terminal adding -sdl. How the problem is not gone, but in about 10% of the...

Release Qemu for Pandora (for rebirth competition)

I've got feedback from Francois of the HP 200LX community. He could replicate my problem and found a solution - for an Android version of qemu. Now I tried to use the same solution for the Pandora port, but to no avail. He wrote: > I just tried your freedos image on an android version of qemu...

Release Qemu for Pandora (for rebirth competition)

Ingo, forgot to tell you this: Thanks for Ctrl-Alt hint to release mouse cursor. I forgot about the emulation capturing the mouse and the need to release it manually (too much used to seamless integration of VMWare / VirtualBox ;-).

Release Qemu for Pandora (for rebirth competition)

Ingo, it would be great, if this would help. However (see below) the problem is also visible in QEmu on my Mac ("Q" based on QEmu 0.9.1). Just in case it's any good for debugging / optimizing / helping me ;-)... here is an email I just wrote to the HP 200LX community about this problem as a...

Release Qemu for Pandora (for rebirth competition)

Oh an Ingo, I just tried your workarounds for the double-arrow problem, but they doesn't help, evenif I combine Adlib enabling with underclocking to 600MHz (1GHz Pandora) and switching to 486 emulation instead of Pentium. I assume those workarounds work for the issue, that sometimes a key press...

Release Qemu for Pandora (for rebirth competition)

May I suggest some improvements for the qemu PND: 1. Combine selection of a qemu HDD image and launching qemu on one page of the GUI and make selection of an image easier, maybe using a dropdown field, that already lists all images found in the images folder. That drastically reduces the number...

Frustrated by the AV cable situation!

More money brought in by new buyers = Speedup for preorder deliveries. Less money brought in by new buyers = More delays for preorder deliveries. Please read this post by ED...

Frustrated by the AV cable situation!

Well put, lingenfr, that's what I meant exactly. Sorry, BackAssward, that I maybe missed that detail for you to understand my point. I hope you understand it now.

Frustrated by the AV cable situation!

Complaining publicly doesn't help anyone here: If you complain publicly, this will discourage potential new buyers (to whom such preorder complaints do not apply at all, because they would be serviced immediately), but those new buyers are the ones who actually keep the project running by...

Release Qemu for Pandora (for rebirth competition)

Thanks! Sometimes it's good to read the ENTIRE Wiki page, and not just the instructions for setting up something. ;-) I didn't know that I must not execute something from a shared folder. After copying the program folder to the HDD image, I can now execute the program. However, there are...

Release Qemu for Pandora (for rebirth competition)

Thanks those work. Now I made more progress: Mounted the HP200LX Connectivity Pack folder as "shared folder", booted successfully, but whenever I try to run CPack, qemu simply silently quits. Probalby some kind of crash. How can I debug why a certain program crashes qemu?...

    Port request: "KDEPIM/PI" PIM suite

I actually tried to compile it (natively, some time ago using the devtools PND and the native-development tar, also using opkg to install all the needed packages myself, and recently using the CodeBloxks PND. No success. In general I know how to compile, but as soon as I hit problems, I am...

Release Qemu for Pandora (for rebirth competition)

Hi Ingo et. al. I have problems with setting up qemu. Can you please give some advice? Do I make a mistake here? Or is there a bug in PanQemu? My goal was to set up a lean MS-DOS 5.0 or 6.2 or freedos environment for testing the HP 200LX Connectivity Pack under QEmu instead of DOSBox...

    Port request: "KDEPIM/PI" PIM suite

okay, great. Just to make this sure. Since I also drive a small business, also recommending the Pandora to customers and occasionally brokering Pandora orders to Michael (but without a profit for me) I am a bit careful. You know, .I have made my experiences back then with the Zaurus, where I...

    Port request: "KDEPIM/PI" PIM suite

Hi Mark, great, thank you for your efforts! What fund would you consider appropriate? Btw: Your suggestion with the donation makes me feel that you assume that I have some commercial interest in KDEPIM. But this is not the case. I'll gladly donate something, just because I will be able to...

Efficient Agenda and Organizer for the Pandora ?

By the way: PE, PIM/PE and MM/LX can also be used on the Pandora, using DOSBox and a Palmtop graphics emulator, such as Palrun. However, usage is not too convenient, because of the difficult key mapping and some graphics flaws of Palrun in conjunction with DOSBox. I have not tried to run it...
