    This girl is on fire

Wow... This is cyberpunk. You come into a house, that's burnt down, the smell of fire and smoke is in the air, a totally spooky atmosphere. You look around. And then you see it. A small green LED is glowing. You walk into that direction and see... the Pandora. Alive. More or less. Amongst all...

Policy for PND maintainers re SuperZaxxon / .next handover

Does anyone know, what Apple .app containers really contain? Are Mac OS binaries statically linked? How are such problems solved there? Maybe we can learn from it. Btw: If I compile software on the Pandora, how do I make the binare statically linked instead of dynamically linked?

TV Out Cable: Time to Mass produce! (2013-06-22)

Interesting. My older Sony compact camera, bought about 3 years ago, also has too strong red. Seems to be a Sony thing.

*g* "each" would have been the correct word here, right?

    .next alpha image

sebt3, this gives me an idea of a potential way of allowing to give older PNDs some more compatibility with .next, if you make pnd_run.sh to be comfigurable with a toggle, that the user can decide, if packed libs should be used, if system libs of the same name are present, too? Default="yes"...

TV Out Cable: Time to Mass produce! (2013-06-22)

Pistol, I have to disagree. What I observe is this:   People who own a FullHD flat TV develop completely different requirement to image quality compared to people who don't own such kinds of TV. The exe gets used to what you usually use.   I, for example, have very good eyes, 100% sight on...

TV Out Cable: Time to Mass produce! (2013-06-22)

On my old and relatively small Sony CRT, I even prefer Composite over S-Video, because with S-Video some colors are too intensive, especially red. But from what some people say, for flat TVs S-Video is better. I have never tried a flat TV, so I cannot comment on that.

Policy for PND maintainers re SuperZaxxon / .next handover

Oh great, so this can be used to match the PND version to the used firmware. However, which field is this? I can't find it on http://pandorawiki.org/PXML   Also, is there some standard for versioning numbers for all the firmware versions? E.g. how do we differentiate in that field between...

Policy for PND maintainers re SuperZaxxon / .next handover

Okay, I get your point freamon. Maybe new PND versoins don't need to be compatible with older firmware versions. I like the idea of using archived PND versions for older firmware and the need to upgrade firmware to being able to use the latest PND version. Then maybe an enhancement of the...

    .next alpha image

I only partially agree.  There may be reasons for people to stay on SuperZaxxon for some time, even after .next is released.  Or will you only release .next, once EVERYTHING works flawlessly in it, that already worked flawlessly on SuperZaxxon? Then it may be okay to drop SuperZaxxon support...

TV Out Cable: Time to Mass produce! (2013-06-22)

Prio 1: Use S-Video, if possible. Check, if one of the Scart sockets has the "S --[-> ]" sign on it. Then it is S-Video compatible and you need an adapter cable that connects the TV-Out's S-Video connector + the Audio L+L connectors (probably black and red Cinch) to Scart. Like this...

    Release DraStic Nintendo DS emulator

Question: Especially with TV-Out, but even without when the main screen is set to full-screen, the screen rendering of DraStic appears to be a bit rough. Diagonal lines have very obvious "steps" in it etc. Since I don't have a real DS to compare, I don't know, if that's the same on a real DS. ...

Gameboy emulator with "link cable" support?

I meant more the original Gameboys, and their link cables were not that short. Maybe 80cm or something like that. Don't remember exactly. Well, we have UART lines on the EXT connector. So we could use those and build a custom Pandora "link cable" connecting the serial ports. :-) Then, latency...

What do you recommend for multi-player gaming?

Super Mario War is great. It recognizes the Joystick and game pad flawlessly, so we can now play all three together.  :-) Do you know other games that work like that?  Need to try SuperTuxKart. On the Mac, it supports multi-player mode. Maybe also on the Pandora...

What do you recommend for multi-player gaming?

Great, thanks! Will try this tomorrow. Have installed Picodrive and "World of Illusion" already, seems to be a good game for children, and I got it working in a way.  I can control Donald with the Pandora's controls, but the game pad controls not only Mickey, but both Mickey and Donald...

Gameboy emulator with "link cable" support?

Hi guys, does one of the available gameboy emulators support connecting two instances running on two different Pandoras (via network connection perhaps) to play together, as two Gameboys connected with the "link cable"?

What do you recommend for multi-player gaming?

Thanks, Remood is not an option, because I want to play with my daughters (6 and 10 years old). ;-) I don't have an ICP, so only the mentioned controllers should be used. Will have a look at Compo4all MAME (is there any difference in local multi-player features compared to other MAME ports?  I...

What do you recommend for multi-player gaming?

Hi guys, I'm looking for advice what games / emulators are suitable for multiplayer games. I mean such kind of games where two (or even more) persons each have one controller and simultanously control one game character. I realize some of the emulators are able to use Wiimotes. Just tried with...

    Release DraStic Nintendo DS emulator

What about: - the battery display only coming onto the game screen, when battery runs low, as a warning - the time is in the menu only - there is a timer that can be set, after which the emulator will automatically save the game state and quit (useful for letting children play, or for...
