The biggest computer/gaming mistake you have ever made.

Hi zev, same here with a Novation Mininova synth. I also tinkered with the Microkorg (however, I liked the original Microkorg better than the XL(+) variants). But then I decided for the Mininova because it's technically more innovative and sounds better than the (original) Microkorg. Much too...

iFuse for iPhone / iPod access

hmm, I'll take the sources with me and play around with them when on the plane. However, I fear that I'll need more lib sources that I don't have yet, and I won't have Internet access for some time. Let's see how far I get. :-)

iFuse for iPhone / iPod access

Hi guys, tomorrow I'll go on a trip with only the Pandora and the iPhone with me. Now I just stumbled across iFuse, a userspace driver for iPhone/iPod file system access. It would be great to have this on the Pandora, too...

DisplayLink external DVI/VGA display on SuperZaxxon firmware: Request for assistance

hmm, seems like USB is working but the DL chip is not recognized at all.  And it seems that there are other USB devices connected (from the vendor/device IDs mentioned in the log, I think there is am UMTS modem and a hard drive or something like that connected). However, no clear hints to me...

DisplayLink external DVI/VGA display on SuperZaxxon firmware: Request for assistance

Please post the output of  dmesg  after you connected the adapter. Maybe this will give a hint why it doesn't work.

DisplayLink external DVI/VGA display on SuperZaxxon firmware: Request for assistance

yes, it should, I think. Interesting product! If you try (or already tried) it, please let us know, what works and what doesn't with the Pandora.

This would be very cool of course :-) Let me know, if you need a complete translation of the instructions. Daniel

32 Dice release Just for you! (Update 1.9)

Wow. That game reminds me of "Duell" by Parker, released in the 70s or 80s. Maybe in other countries this game had other names. A game that I really liked back then. Just digged it up again and made a photo for you: Instruction sheet: IMG_20140701_0001.pdf Is your game derived from Duell or...

    Swappable Keyboard Layer?

Also for me, the keyboard is essential and in my opinion it should be optimized as good as possible. When I first saw the Pandora, I thought I would prefer one without gaming controls, because the gaming controls make the device look so much like a gaming device :-) But I wanted to use the...

Warning: Avoid earbuds with "Apple ControlTalk" feature!

The Pandora is well hackable. So die anyone try yet what happens, if we reverse Mic and Ground directly at the jack's soldering joints?

SoC Poll - What's most important for you?

This brings me to another thought (that should not be discussed in detail in this thread, I only throw it in here, because I hope it need not be discussed :-D): Spare batteries for extending battery life make only half the sense, if the computer needs to be rebooted on battery change. A buffer...

SoC Poll - What's most important for you?

My thoughts about this is: Can it hurt, if we have more performance reserves than we use when on battery? If I plug the Pandora/Pyra into my dock at home, it would be great to have even more power than when I'm on the road, in order to do real desktop PC work with it (office software, web...

SoC Poll - What's most important for you?

Alleycat even ran on my first PC, an 80286-based one with 640kB of RAM. Great game! :-)

SoC Poll - What's most important for you?

Not really taking you serious, since you have started this discussion with the poll :-) Did you take me serious? ;-) The Pyra will certainly stay a niche product. If not for architecture, at least the gaming controls will prevent that large companies equip their staff with Pyras. ;-) It...

SoC Poll - What's most important for you?

That's not what I said! I said, that my prefered way is FIRST ARM, THEN x86. That's not quite right. The more choices you have, the more frustrated you can become, because making a good and well-thought descision is overwhelming your brain. There are a lot of recent publications about this...

SoC Poll - What's most important for you?

_wb_, just because a device can run Windows doesn't make the device a Windows device. You can still run other operating systems on it. And I don't mean an x86 Pyra should be tied to Windows! By all means - NO! (I also hate Windows). I meant to offer it as an option only. Just maintain...

SoC Poll - What's most important for you?

Hi guys, in 1992, which, IIRC, was the era when most people's PCs had 80386 processors and 80486 were the top of the line, Intel produced an x86 SoC that was compatible with the 80186 processor and had some of the features of the 80286 on-board, too. The "Hornet" chip. It was so low-power that...

8086tiny - PC XT emulator interesting for really old DOS games?

okay, PND is basically working now (I forgot a closing tag in the PXML.xml - as always just a small dumb error). Thanks FBnil for your comments. I added the background and standalone tags per your suggestion. However, there is a problem. Maybe Adrian can help? If I start 8086tiny using the...

8086tiny - PC XT emulator interesting for really old DOS games?

Thanks Adrian, then I will use 1.15. So little time - I have an 1.11 PND package ready, but it didn't work yet. Probably some problem in the PXML file. Will need some time to debug it. But I'm working on it :-)
