Don't those use GLshim? Translation layers might also skew things a bit due to slightly more work. In fact I would stay away from anything that is OpenGL / GLes. Maybe something that uses vulkan because it's supposed to be universal cross platform. Edit: checked vulkan wiki page, should...

I don't think emulated vs native would be fair to the machine emulating. I think a software title that has a native binary for both architectures, and also wasn't some cherry picked application that had optimized performance for one and not the other. Try to find an intensive app that is both...

There were ones I've read about with graphite or carbon nanotube mesh layers in the polymer that was supposed to radically increase capacity and charging speed. I haven't heard much about it since then as far as if they can mass produce them or not. I think with tesla's new world class lipo...

Its a pretty big deal to me, but not a show stopper. Headphones or mono is ok I suppose. I wish they could shrink the PCB a bit to make room. It looks like they have room to spare. Meh.

GPD Win (x86 Computer / Palmtop)

Every product has a certain percentage of defects, regardless. That's what RMA's are for. I'm not suggesting the WIN will have as fancy of a fan as the shield, just showing an example of a fan done correctly. My hope is that it is just quiet, it's effectiveness probably doesn't matter if you're...

the fan in the shield got rid of a lot of heat, and it was basically silent

    PSP Big Battery Mod

Ok, fair enough. There is a special brand of hater out there (they know who they are) that's been floating around for years. They like to rabble rabble whenever anyone suggests an android device has any merit over any other option. I incorrectly assumed you were one of them. I apologize.

15% larger battery sounds pretty neat indeed. Lot of my uses for it won't stress the processor too much. I'll probably opt out of getting an external fan. The win sounds like it's turning into a really great device.

    PSP Big Battery Mod

I'm sorry, you're voicing your input when comparing two devices having not used one of the devices being compared? So you're sensitive to input lag, then you're going to lose your mind with the amount of frame skip just to play the same games on PSP. It was from an era where we just switched...

I really like the metal bottom. It looks great, and I'm sure it will make it more durable and rigid in addition to dissipating heat like on cell phones. If they route the antenna up into the display, and leave that a hard plastic it shouldn't cause too many problems with signal I'm guessing.

Good for you ED. I'll also be trying very actively to get Linux working on it when I get mine from their campaign. I'll of course share any work I do with you and the rest of the community.

The win is unique, a special little snowflake that you can play world of Warcraft on. In fact, the win also has magical powers. It can summon demons from the underworld and breath fire. In addition to that, when you boot it up for the first time, you are granted immortality. What do you get...

    Help needed with Windows desktop

I had this exact same problem with a dell xps laptop. Dell had a couple people look at the problem, had me flash bios's etc, opened it up and gave it a good heatsink and fan cleaning, format and recover, but it didn't do anything. Dell eventually replaced to video card as it was under warranty...

... So what about latency then? Are you sensitive to android's notorious input and audio latency? I don't notice the input latency at all, but audio is just a tiny bit off from the action on the screen from I can tell. Somewhat distracting but I also often play with the sound off or extremely low.

Play metroid for the NES. The red/black transitions and slow gameplay make it very obvious. Just move either right or left a bit so where the background also moves then stop then move again. The gaps between each pixel during movement should be fluid and clear, but instead are fluid and fuzzy...

Someone mentioned the Pandora on the last page. Said it had ghosting issues similar to new3ds and made their hands cramp. I don't agree with the hand cramping, but I gotta say, the ghosting is kinda annoying. Hopefully pyra doesn't have the same problem

ARM as a company represents tons of competition within that space as they only design and license, they're basically all R&D as a product, where Intel both designs and manufactures. I'm actually happy this is the situation for ARM, and sort of wish the x86 market was as diverse. A manufacturer...

My asus transformer book tablet can play WoW fairly well when not trying to raid or whatever. I'd be happy with that in a handheld.

    What have you bought recently?

I have a friend that liked slivers. We play together and he usually kicks my ass with it. I just like dragons, and yea, I'm pretty satisfied with just those. I started collecting for a commander deck I was making where you can play a 100 card deck with cards from any set ever, but only 1 of any...
