GPD Win (x86 Computer / Palmtop)

I'm backer 221, so mine should have been sent out on the 23rd if they were only able to do 100 per day. Hmm. Hopefully sometime this week. :/

GPD Win (x86 Computer / Palmtop)

Should be able to set the max CPU usage in windows if you are overly concerned with battery life and thermals. Just a suggestion instead of having to jump in and out of the bios. Have all my laptops set max 80% on battery, 100% when plugged in and it keeps them at reasonable temps and slight...

Sorry for the off topic, but anything new relevant to this device worth noting going on? My eyes are kinda glazing over trying to filter through this thread.

Progress is good, but didn't the JD campaign start after the indigogo one? That kinda sucks they are shipping out of order :/

    Pyra and Raspberry Pi?

Filthy single board computer peasants... BEHOLD! The glorious modular mobile computing platform that is the Pyra! Our device cannot be tainted by the filth that is some $5 lowly drop in replacement board. What is this fun and interesting you speak of!? No! I will not have it! Shoehorning some...

Anyone else here played No Man's Sky yet?

It looks like it would almost be a half decent game. But I think I may be confusing the game engine from the game it's self. The lack of building & actual mining aka minecraft/terraria/starbound really kills it for me. If they went full on polish and storyline quests then fine, make that. If...

Anybody considering picking up an Oculus Rift..?

So this is an interesting thought provoking situation. I work under the knowledge of; things I create on work time during work hours, with work resources belongs to the company I work for. But do they own the ideas thought up during duty hours as well? If I write a line of code at work, when I...

Anyone else here played No Man's Sky yet?

Those angry joe reviews are so accurate to how I feel about tons of games. Both having played the game before seeing the reviews, and getting games based on his reviews. I really respect his opinion on games.

Looks cool I suppose, probably will just stick to my 2D starbound though

GPD Win (x86 Computer / Palmtop)

you want to play games when it's that hot outside? I would be using the little fan in the win to cool myself off at that point. Screw that noise, I hate the heat.

I think disabling cortana would save quite a bit of battery actually. Not sure why that's a joke.

Some of those cores are optimized, and in some situations highly optimized for their architecture. But if you find the same core for both I think it wouldn't be a bad test, not sure about the best.

GPD Win (x86 Computer / Palmtop)

I am still failing to see why the comparison wouldn't be fair. Saying unfair because you think GPD hasn't made optimizations, and that the fundamental differences in Windows and Linux doesn't cause the comparison to be unfair. Fair is comparing one product out of the box to another, taken at...

GPD Win (x86 Computer / Palmtop)

How would comparing battery life with the same application not be fair? The battery is actually more capacity on the win, so it's at least at some level a selling point of the WIN as well. I personally would want to see that comparison because I think it would be extremely fair comparison. Do...
