    GPD WIN 2

So, if CIV 5 had an open source engine that allowed you to direct to the licesenced bits then maybe someone could make a package similar to how the Pandora does it that was configured for the win specifically... But.. the argument you are making appears partially because of closed source...

    GPD WIN 2

You can use the autorun in Windows for removable media to run a script to create the icons, could even get fancy and make a listener service included in that script that removes those same icons on eject. Making apps portable for removable media or packaged preconfigured for the win would...

    GPD WIN 2

I am on your preorder list for the pyra, and am still waiting patiently to get it, and will also get a win 2. Just putting that out there. It's not a competition for me specifically, but in general it will be for your device. Yours depends an awful lot on the community of consumers. Less people...

    GPD WIN 2

I understand the tech here, and I am still quite floored by how well this device is performing. Pyra is going to have some pretty stiff competition, say what you will about Windows bloat, inefficiency etc, this device is showing damn impressive actual results.

    GPD WIN 2

that's what we call kohl's math here in the states (kohl's is a retail place that has the price 8x higher on literally everything in the store then gives insane "discounts" to make it appear you're getting a deal. They even make a point to tell you how much money you "saved" at checkout)

    GPD WIN 2

my biggest and really only complaint with the gpd win was the temperature it would reach while in moderate use, if they can keep that under control on the next version it will be a hit.

My journey into atheism and theories on life

The argument is that the complexities of the universe makes it impossible to simulate? Fair enough. I don't like the the idea of dismissing an argument due to a sense of arrogance that we know what the requirements would be to simulate our universe. I would agree with the idea that using...

    Analyzing 4GB RAM

I would take a 2GB I would think, but one thing is on my mind regarding it. These fixes that nikolaus is working on, would these not be included? You make it sound like you already have boards on hand, yet revisions are being worked on?? Not following.

My journey into atheism and theories on life

Very interesting video, it's neat to see how he plans to get around the problems isolating probable values. That doesn't really devalue the argument that quantum computers don't inherently deal with absolutes though, but you can get the probabilities to represent an absolute based off the...

My journey into atheism and theories on life

The part of the big rip is every area of spacetime in an infinite timeline will eventually get larger to the point where the space between the electron and the neutron become large enough to become unbound and literally rip apart atoms. Starts with "ripping" galaxy clusters apart as gravity no...

My journey into atheism and theories on life

That's not quite what I've been hearing recently. There were 3 major theories, big bounce/crunch that could be 2 separate theories, and the 2 others, the big rip and big freeze. The big bounce/crunch has been mostly disproven saying that we are still on an upward incline on expansion speed...

My journey into atheism and theories on life

Had an interesting conversation today regarding entropy. We were wondering if there was any studies or coralation between increasing entropy and universe expansion. Maybe the increasing entropy is powering the ever increasing expansion being observed. It's unknown what is powering it, maybe as...

My journey into atheism and theories on life

I also think checking none in the religion checkbox doesn't count as having a religion. Just like saying I don't watch sports when asked what your favorite sports team is. Yes you may have alternative answers to the same questions religion attempts to answer, but it's not the same a believing...

My journey into atheism and theories on life

My understanding of quantum computers is that it deals mostly with probabilities rather than absolutes. Giving you all answers simutaniously as probabilities. I may be over simplifying my justification as to why I believe what I believe, some of it maybe be completely baseless or flat out...

My journey into atheism and theories on life

Now, that's not quite the simulation I was suggesting, I mean uploading your consciousness into a simulation could easily fall into option 3, in which case there could or would be those among us that might be aware of the 'outside' possibly even able to play outside the rules. That would...

My journey into atheism and theories on life

Wow, I completely forgot I wrote all that several years ago, it was pretty deep stuff. As an update, if anyone cares, my current beliefs, as crazy as it may sound, is in simulation theory. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simulated_reality what really got me was this argument; 1)future humanity...

GPD Pocket ready for preorder :)

sure, but my thoughts were there's variable levels of "good enough" referencing specifically the build quality of the pandora. A device with no competition means it sets it's own bar, people don't really have things to point to, to say, x is better than y in these areas. Things are as good as...

GPD Pocket ready for preorder :)

Kind of O/T but related to your post, having lots of experience with the GPD Win, and the Pyra prototypes, how does the Pyra stack up physically? The specs are easy to argue, the OS is a lot of personal preference, but physically things we can't experience by looking at numbers or pictures...

GPD Win (x86 Computer / Palmtop)

my win is still holding strong as a pocket laptop. I clocked it down/capped it at 1.5ghz and it's been a pleasure to use, no crashing, no overheating, about 9 hours on average of active use of email and web surfing. Nothing amazing, but a nice little windows portable if you use it for the right...
