First off, I'd like to say that 90% of my favorite games are 16bit , 8bit, or homebrew, and many of them have very poor graphics. I believe that the emphasis on graphics has resulted in an steady decline in overall game quality. That being said, I'd like to hear your opinions about the best looking games available on the 2X.

Rules:
1) It can be any game from any system as long as it looks good and actually runs well (IE no PSX games, since at this point they don't run very well. Yes, it is impressive to get 20fps, but it still doesn't look great)

2)I can only get stable at <260mhz, so please no suggestions that require massive overclocking to run smoothly.

3)The overall quality of the game is irrelevant for my purposes. As long as it looks good, list it.

That's it!

Vektar and Doom are the best looking games which balance FPS, Visuals, and Gameplay.

Vektar and the Metal Slug Series(via Neo Geo emulator) are my personal favorites.

Personally, i'd agree with Mark of the Wolves on Neo Geo, but i've been really impressed just very recently (in the last day or so) with MegaMan - The Power Battles on MAME.

I think View Point on Neo geo has pretty good Graphics and Gameplay is great!!

Almost all the Genesis / Snes / NeoGeo games look fantastic - they were designed with similar resolution to the GP2x (ie televisions); because the GP2x screen is so much smaller, it appears to give far better image quality. Only games which don't so much are games designed for DOS, like LucasArts adventures, Doom, etc.

I think almost everything I wanted to say, has been said. Just a couple more things:
Tilematch looks cool (maybe not all too fancy but I like the cute gfx)
Soleil for Megadrive is fantastic and well animated
Pitfall - the mayan adventure is really cool too
Earth Worm Jim 1 & 2 also make my day in graphic things. Megadrive emulation is just perfect.

I think Beat2x has good clean graphics and the look of a professional program. Too many programs LOOK like homebrew.
I second that..
Beat2x should be the GP2x's official (opensource/homebrew) game, hands down.

Seconded! BTW did you manage to beat that boss yet? :p
Powermanga's good but Beat2x beats it hands down for me, as it doesn't need to use the joystick in game ;)
