See http://www.gp32news.com.

It's by Rlyeh! :)

Only private beta tho. :( I hope he releases some emus soon, cuz his emus are supposed to be very good.
I'm sure they're very good.. but with MAME halted, now presumably the Genesis halted... I'm getting sad :)

Mwa ha ha ha....and i have it!!!
hey whats the best NES emu out there in ur opinion??

Well, my favorite NES emus for portables are PocketNES on GBA and Pocket Nester on PocketPC. :) Both are really SUPERB!

I don't have my GP32 FLU yet, it's in the mail. But if any NES emu for GP32 could become as good as those then it would be awesome! The GP32 would be a perfect NES emu system because it has a nice big screen and great controls, better than GBA or PPC.

I think Nester is being ported to GP32? I forget where I read that, but it ported to PocketPC really well, and it's very fast. So it could be great for GP32. Man I love classic games... :)

I hope that rlyeh and jeff and Robert and all the others keep up this great work in the emus and wub, giffel and other keep writing those homebrew games

Thanks everyone

MrT

i think that the best nes emu out right now for a handheld is PocketNES for the gba
its has ran every rom iv put on it so far and iv been using it for a year and 1/2 and it has great sound!......if only there was a nes emu like that on the GP32

Yes, I agree! PocketNES for GBA is really amazing. I'm surprised the GP32 doesn't have an NES emu as good yet, since GP32 is more powerful. I guess nobody has really tried hard enough yet, or they just haven't released their latest work yet. ;)

But once a really good NES emu is made for GP32, it will be better than PocketNES on GBA simply because the GP32 has better controls plus the screen won't have to scale down the graphics, so you'll see every pixel in the game. =) But no doubt about it, PocketNES for GBA is incredible.

Well, a quote from gp32news.com regarding fnes32:

--------

Only private beta, but Rlyeh said with his legendary humour that he will release it with his 6 other emus.
( fCOL32, fNES32, fGEN32, fMAME32, fZX32 and fMSX32 )
So, wait and see ! :)

--------

So it looks like he's still working on all these emus... and he wants to release them all together...
That's probably the reason we have to wait :)

But imagine... the day when all these emulators come out at once... it should be declared as
"GP32 emulation day" and nobody should go to work :D

And I have a feeling, this day won't be very far... (I had the same feeling when everybody was
waiting for snesstation and PGEN for the PS2, and I was right! :)

I'm pretty sure that he was just joking about the 6 (omg!) emus
release at the same time. But I would probably die anyway with
an ultimate geekasm' if this would happen. :)

What frame rates are these emus running at. I'd give the winning vote to a fast emu of a less popular system rather than a slower emu of a popular system. If you see what I mean!

If he can outdo PocketNES I'll have no reason to own a GBA.. Might aswell sell the SP and Flash carts and buy more smc cards ;)

Rlyeh is my new god. I dont want to freak him out or anything, but i have fashioned a shrine to him in my cupboard B)

Anyone who produces any content for this wonderful handheld deserves significant respect. My only worry is i dont have enough cupboards to build shrines to you all....

Sorry, this is OT. :)

I just came to read your signature, Swiss_Cheeseman... So you aren't Swiss after all, but
Australian? It's just, since I always thought that I gotta be, like, the only Swiss guy with
a GP32, I was somewhat disaffected when I first saw you on this board. :)
Why do you call yourself Swiss_Cheeseman then...?

he must be a "swiss cheese" man and not a "swiss" Cheese man.

He must eat a lot of swiss cheese.
