..should work. If the image isn't showing copy the url http://www34.brinkster.com/looeymaru/vec1.gif into your address bar, which should work ok.

It's the game built into the Vectrex bios (I think the Vectrex is now in the public domain so it should be legal), MineStorm. It's scaled to fill the GP32 display so looks a bit odd compared to the real thing, but still look ok(ish) when it's all moving.

Anyone got any game requests for screen shots?

Id like to see Spike running if possible :)

Also Cosmic Chasm is one of my favourite's...

Looks Good! well done

::Runs around excitedly::

yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy!

Vectrex! Vectrex! Vectrex!

One of the best systems ever made. Wasted hours on Star Ship (Star Trek in the US), Mine Storm II, Web Wars, Beserk etc. Only wish I knew what had happened to my cartridge (sorry, 'Video Cassette') of Scramble.

Will this support the screen overlays? I'd love to see that... Also, is the image going to be stretched (as I think you said, the image isn't displaying) horizontally or are you going to provide options to show it in it's proper aspect with black borders to either side, or, even better for nostaglia, show it sideways so it can fill the screen using the proper dimensions like some Lynx games? ^_^

Hell, the GP32 is becoming a must for retrogamers (if it wasn't already).

I'll be doing the screen flipping thing (90 degree flip), yes. But it would break a few games as you need more than one button.. MineStorm, for example, uses 3 buttons ..

The stretching to fill the screen is personal preference, I think it looks better than having it only fill half of the screen (with the proper aspect ratio it looks tiny).

Screen overlays will be supported, but it's not a priority at the moment.

There are a few Vectrex games which use all the buttons; one of my faves was Cosmic Chasm. That used them for thrust, shield, drill, and fire. Easy to lose track of things in a tight situation at the best of times when sitting in front of the real machine with it's large controller ^_^

Personally, I think it would still be reasonably easy to use all four control buttons even with the GP32 on it's side, after all, you'll be holding the machine by them, more-or-less. As many screen options as you can manage would be superb, let people choose one of their own preference :D

I cannot make it clear just how appreciated a Vectrex emu would be for the GP32. It would make one of my childhood dreams come true to be able to play Web Wars on the bus B)

Sussed it, you do have to copy the URL into a new window, no links allowed

Looks good, very good, only played a few games on my cousins machine, always felt it was good but a little over priced at the time, but now things are likely to be much cheaper

Good Work please keep at it

If its vertical, you can have 4 buttons, just put your hand on topof the unit and use the R button, A, B, and Select as the 4 buttons. Select is a little hard to get to, but its better than a squashed screen.

How comfortable would that be? I don't have my GP32 yet so I can't test out whether it would be uncomfortable.. From playing beatmania on the Wonderswan I found it a bit of a pain to have on hand at the top of the console and one at the bottom.

Swiss cheeseman, I'm an Australian who owns a GP32 :p Although im currently living in the US... does that still count? :)
