It wouldn't really matter if you could zip or not. DivX files are already compressed. Can't compress them anymore.

It depends on the settings you are using.
If you set a 2pass at 64kbts with xvid you will have a very little file (but quality..... )
The best is to try differents settings to make up your own minf
