mic!

A voice controlled game ... hmm... a hefty part of the GP32's processor would go into speech recognition and I doubt there are many good open-source speech recogniser things. But as voice dictation, it would be great, especially if you could then save as wav or something. Then again... the ext add-on would cost a bit, so why not buy a dictator? :)

so why not buy a dictator?
 How much do dictators charge? I'm guessing that Saddam would be pretty expensive ;)

What about "speech recognition H/W"?? I'd guess that you could get something like that somewhere that you talk into then it outputs text out of some kind of connection to take load of the processors of ppls that do voice recog a lot :) If there is one, someone could just mod it to fit on the ext port :p

I can't see how a voice controlled game would work. you'd be sitting there sayin

Left,Left, Jump, Shoot, shoot,shoot,shoot,shoot, left,left,left,right,jump,shoot,jump,left,jump!!!

Hmm, a portable karaoke game would be cool indeed, get to a friends party, connect the head-phone port to the sterio, plug in the mike and start some songs with Karaoke text support and maybe a basic error recognition for counting points.

That would be a really innovative use for a GP32
