Created 30 second movie clips with my digital camera - avi format, but can't get them to play on GPCinema...

Info about the original files: all 320x240 format, no audio (except GPCINE thinks there is - 8 bit mono 8000hz), 9.975 frames/sec, unknown codec..

OK - ran it through Virtual Dub - no video filter, no audio, Divx 4.12 compression, 1 pass quality based, no change to frame rate, or filter - no joy...

OK ran it through VD - no filter, no audio, DivX 4.12 - 2 passes - 208kbit/s, no change to frame rate or filter - no joy (GPCINE locks up this time when press A)

1 last try: same as above but with audio sampled at 11025hz, encoded as MP3 - comes up as 11025 hz mono - 0kbit/s on GPCine... Locks up again....

Yaustar has suggested rounding the frame rate up....

Any body got any ideas what I am doing wrong?

<cheers>

maybe you should just add a tiny sound file using 11khz mono 8kbits 'coz I think that GPcinema needs a video+audio source file
Im using no rounded fps like 11.998 ans so on without any Pbs....
hope to help
see you ;)

do you use the newest vdup version? it seems like gpcinema has some problems with older virtualdup versions.
have you tryd xvid?

I added a soundtrack to an silent avi and then it worked fine. I just converted a mp3 to a wave file then added that on in virtualdub.

you will have to "rip" the anime episode to a normal divx for PC watching (around 200M)
then you will have to convert this one to a GP32 format (divx 4.12 or XViD with only 1 frame on 2decsimate option in Vdub)
then it should be working

see you ;)

OK will try adding a sound file and report back - wanted to do that anyway at some point....

Now where can I find an MP3 of skiing noises? Or maybe Ski Sunday...

OK got the WAV of Ski Sunday - how do you convert it to avi audio - just use Vdub?

OK... Well I concatenated the 4 files and added Ski Sunday .wav to it, then compressed it with DivX 4.12, and mp3 11025hz 20bits mono...

Weehaa!

It works!

Now I just need to add titles!

Any clues?
