OpenSnes9XGP 0.3 WIP

The SNES emulator is really great !

There are not many things to improve but great would be ...

- 144 Mhz support
- Fullspeed with sound (not crackling sound)
- I think the menues in the emu are a bit fast (what do the others think ?)

When SNES is perfect - what do you think about writing a Atari Lynx Emu ? (I'd love to play rampart again ;)

Keep up the great work !

Greetings

Tobias

Enough games already work for me to last a lifetime, what we really need is greater speed and faster sound emulation.

I think that Opensnes 0.2 was a revelation, so anything in 0.3 would be a bonus. However, if Grandmaster Yoyo is reading this a screen stretch (alongside better sound etc..) would be a welcome addition....

Utmost respect to all GP32 developers for keeping it alive (Im so happy I didnt buy a GBA).

Ful, screen support and optimized speed please.

Thx for your great job!!

(the best emu!!!)

ah i forgot something: please make it possible that the custom settings for each rom also include the hack settings! in version 0.2 everything is being remembered exept the video settings and the hack settings...

thanks dude :)

wouldn't screen stretching be detrimental?
it's so close to the borders as it is, that I don't even notice. I would assume a screen stretch would look distorted + funky, and an unnecessary hit on performance.. am I wrong?

thx yoyo, keep up the great work!

Ofcourse everbody wants some optimization on the sounds/speed part of the great emu but the're just 2 other things that would make this emu perfect for me :

- More than 1 rom in a zip file support
- Full screen support (i know it's really hard to do becaus of the different resolution the SNES has but i hope it's possible :D)

How far is the ASM core now? Any change we will see it ... soon :p

Yeah, fullscreen would be nice, but think about how it would have to be done. It looks much better when the size of the image is exactly half of the size of the GP32's screen, in other words each pixel is drawn twice and it looks pixelated but good (see fGB32). Alas neither the horizontal nor the vertical resolution of SNES doesnt fit twice in the screen, which means only some pixels would be doubled. The resulting image would look distorted in some parts, in those that were stretched, and fine in others. Not too bad. But when scrolling, the image would look like it was "simmering". There is a way to eliminate that, intelligent stretching or how-it-is-called, but its cpu time-consuming and thus not usable in an already demanding emulator.
Would like to see the feature there anyway ;)

Thank you for hard work yoyo, we all appreciate it! :) :) :)

I'd like to see an option that keeps the emu running at 1 constant speed, but drops frames if it needs to automatically so the music doesn't slowdown. Is this possible, or is this how auto frameskip works?

I love Snes music. :D

How about multiple screen sizes for the people who want faster emulation and don't mind to play on a smaller screen? Another request, is changing the buttons required to go to the menu to two buttons for all the controller settings.

Speed speed speed, brilliant program - keep up the good work.

TBH ARM optimisation should be the priority at the moment, forget all these little updates/tweaks.
