I know it’s a bit of an off topic but, Nintendo have just released a new gaming system in china Called Ique. A new concept of gaming its simply a controller that you plug flash cards into, With games downloaded from various locations.

It uses the old school but well loved Nintendo64 technology, and can be purchased from Lingsang at a super low price of US $119.00 or 69.42 GBP and comes with 5 games Doctor Mario, Zelda 64, Mario 64, Wave Race & Star Fox the only problem is there in Chinese. Looks like a lot of fun. I've oreded one let you know what its like! for more info visit our good friend at Lik-Sang

-LIKSANG IQUE-

A must for N64 Lovers!

I be all over this if I thought I could write my old rom sets to the flash card.

can you have 4 player like the original N64 or just 1 player??? thats the bad point about it I think....

i also think about buying one.. its so cheap :D
pro:
-all good old n64
-very cheap
-perhaps good for some modding or hacking :D
contra:
-games are all chines (bad in zelda and so on)
-have to import it
-not very easy to get new games
-is ntsc only...

ok lets see what the future brings....
i will look at it.

If they can cram all of that in a controller why not just bring out a hand held version of the N64...all u need to add is an lcd... Now that would rock! B)

yeah.... thats why the Xbox controller is so big. The whole computer is inside the control pad and the box is just there for show! :D

somebody should mod one of those and add an lcd screen and then kiss the GBA goodbye.....

Why should you buy an ique if you get a used nintendo64 with games for under 50$? Additional games will be cheaper, too i guess. Probably you wont even be able to purchase additional games by internet as long as you are not in china.

before sticking a lcd on that thing you might wait until feb'04 when nintendo is revealing their "revolutionary" vision... Maybe its just an ique with a lcd...

Yeah, thats what I think too- Nintendo seem to be a little prdictable like that some times- If the "Revolutionary" device is a n64 with an lcd that would be awesome from a gaming standpoint- but from a development standpoint, life would suck as the n64 didnt have a dedicated 2d engine- It was 100% 3d. You could slap 2d textures on a flat-polygon and make things look 2d ( which was the case then and was the biggest complaint amongst developers) This could also mean emulating would be a pain in the arse. I would imagine nintendo implemented some 2d stuff in the ique to maybe make it backwards compatible with GBA or something. Anyway, I've been following this device for a while and I just may buy one seeing as lik-sang is selling them for cheap.
