Duke Nukem 3d..

I disagree, for 1 reason, the amount of buttons needed. Duke Nukem you need to be able to crouch, jump, and fly to get around certain places, as well as swim. There are not enough buttons to be able to do all of these actions as well as just strifing, and running, not to mention how you would do the items like holo duke and all those.

correct me if i'm wrong, but the problem is called "floating point", the gp32 doesn't have a fpu, so float numbers are very hard to use. and they're used a lot in duke3d, that's what i heard

Nah... DK3D has been respelled for another system (Dreamcast?) in fixed point, but no-one's managed to get it to compile as yet for GP32. It could prolly be done, but it's a big project...

Duke nukem 3D has much more source code then doom or rise of the triad, there was no version for the dreamcast, and I think it does use floating point maths.

I heard that the source is extremely messy or full of hacks to make it look more 3D than it is (ie sectors on sectors)...if that's true, it'd be hell to optimize it I guess.

Button functions are no problem, I once thought up a layout that would be perfect. Also, since the Dreamcasts CPU is pathetic at floating point, I would say that, since it runs decent, a port could be made to the GP32.

copy paste lah lah lah

Controls are no problem:

Control Stick: Move left/right/forware/back
Control Stick + Select: Look up, down, move inventory left right.
L/R+Select: Weapon change
L/R: Strafe Left/Right
A: Shoot
B: Jump
Select: Activate
Select+A: Use Item
Select+B: Spare
L+R: Duck
Select+Start: Automap

Ding! Everything is taken care of!

Like I said in another post (just as Swiss repeated his own), controls should be easy to overcome, all that's required is a suitable and managable button combo system.. it's been done before with DOOM and DOOM II successfully :)
