Buying A Gp2x, Where To Buy From?

I finally managed to get a decent amount of disposable income and I've decided to get the GP2X (already ordered the 4 GB SD card). However, I was extremely concerned about dead pixels on the screen. From what I've seen in these forums, dead pixels on the GP2X are rare, but I don't want to end up in the rare category. I've heard good things about gbax.com but buying it there costs $210 shipped compared to Play-Asia, which comes out to $187 shipped. I was wondering, does anybody have any experience with Play-Asia or their return policy? Or should I shell out the extra $23 that I could be using to get an AC adapter and carrying case?

It's not a PSP, the GP2X has an excellent screen. I dunno, I think gp2x.co.uk is pretty good in terms of returning merchandise.

The first one was dust:

anyway, upon closer inspection (which required me to remove the protector) I found out that they were both dust particles stuck onto the screen.

The second one was a stuck pixel, fixed by running a certain video. But the third seemed to be a dead one -- so, it can happen!

Another point, those cases will have been for the MK1 screens. Although, I'm not saying the new screens are any less or more dead-pixel prone.

Ok, I saw that the first one was just dust. But for the second one, the OP never did say whether it fixed it or not. Well, either way, I think I'll just buy it from Play-Asia and cross my fingers.

As for the batteries, I have absolutely no idea what to buy for the charger. I'm looking at thomas-distributing.com and they have a bunch of chargers all with various features. Thing is, I don't know which feature I want, I just want to be able to pop in the batteries at night (whether they're fully charged or not) and wake up in the morning and not see a pile of battery acid on the floor. Any suggestions on what I should get?

Might as well get a brand name like Energizer, since some of the cheap-o-rama brands are a bit over-exaggerated in terms of lifespan and mAh. I've got an Energizer charger that came with 6 batteries of 2500 mAh, and they love me long time (soldia boy).

I have one stuck pixel. I'm hoping the pixel corrrection video can solve this, but it's no problem since I'm a PSP owner.

i must admit it's pretty nice, i'd rather my psp's screen because it's so sexy but it has 1 dead pixel that bothers the hell out of me. gp2x doesnt =]

Actually, I think the DS has a fairly good screen, especially compared to the PSP's.
Right, well you will see the GP2X's screen blows them out of the water.

The MK2 screen is a little too bright on the Backlight at the moment, no word yet on if that will be fixed, but it still is better than the PSP. The DS never seemed to have a great screen(s) to me, but I guess that helped me to not be as surprised as I could have been when I checked out the crap Sony is pedaling.

Here's to hoping my screen is 100% ok. I can't stand even one dead pixel, even if it's on the very edge of the screen. Just knowing that I have a defective screen makes the product feel like it wasn't worth the price tag.

I played with a friends DS Lite today and thought the screen was pretty decent so if what everyone is saying hopefully when I get my GP2X I should see a much better image compared to a DS Lite?

Bought from Play-Asia in March, did snail mail... took ~11 days to arrive (ordered it on a Friday... never do that.... weekends do not count in the shipping business... the first day of transit was the next monday.) Arrived, opened the box - had a 5 dollar coupon, some candy, some stickers, and my gp2x...

No Dead Pixels.
