It happened to ®, which I fortunately fixed with some paper stubs, but now my (A) is beginning to stumble once in a while. I wonder, is there any ghetto fix that I could apply to it?

Jep, its very common to all type of graphite-button-style-stuff (remotes/controllers/phones...).
Easyest way to fix it is to just glue a small piece of tin foil to the rubber bit thingee.
I use a bolt hole maker thingee to cut small round bits out of the tinfoil.
Oh, and use second glue, normal glue is to thick and dosnt dry like it should.

And if it goes down completely, you can still sort it out - best way being to buy a new set of button interiors (which CraigIX may still have a few of - don't know), but if they aren't available, then you can ccanibalize any old joypad and nick the button bits from them and swap them out.

Paper does work, though, just not as reliably or as effectively...

Thanks for the advice fellas! I'll keep an eye on it, and if it gets worse I'll rip a membrane from an old remote, or just stuck some good old paper in, same way as the ® button :)
