I just downloaded Vektar from the GP2X file achive and I love it but then I also noticed that there is a commercial version on this page: http://gp2x.co.uk/commercial.html
I downloaded the demo of the commercial version and it seems exactly the same as the one in the archive; so are there actually any differences, and is it worth buying?

its not EXACTLY the same, its very different, i preordered this game at the start of last month (i think), its not been released yet, but when it is ill let you know ^-^

Ok, thank you ^_^ if its a lot different I will definatly buy it, cause I love the freeware version so much ^_^ How do you know its different though, and do you know whats different?

play the commercial demo.. theres new enemies, bosses, levels, theres a shield, a new artistic design (in the commercial release i think).

Just wait if you want till a review goes up, the game should be out soon.

Yeah I tried the commercial demo, and it seemed exactly the same to me; you can use a shield in the freeware version (1.0)

I'd really like to "show my support" for a commercial GP2X market.... but when all is said and done, it would cost me over $40.00 CND for this game.

Wow. I'm going to have to wait before a purchase like this can be made. I've given myself a strict spending budget on this sort of thing. So, I'm going to have to stick with the free version for a while.

@Judland, is that from GP32z.com, which is a little closer to you than gp2x.co.uk

also the commercial game will have more levels to my knowledge and I think that's bascially the only thing

There will be bosses and updated graphics too. It's a much larger game, but still one I wouldn't pay £17.99 for.

I personally can't see that ANY game will be worth paying more than £5 complete for. I bought the GP2x to play emulation - all the classics on Megadrive, MAME, SMS, Gameboy SP (wishing!), SNES, NES, etc - they were all expensive games in their day. This I can do. I am very happy with these, and Wolfenstein 3D.

Why PAY for games when you get them for free?? I would rather spend the money on getting a Mk3 version of the GP2x when (if) it gets released in the future.

I've always found handheld games to be expensive, basically because the same game for PC would be £5 or even free.

I'm perfectly content with the homebrew I get for free, but I'll buy Payback anyway. I want a commercial game.

gp32z is selling it for $29.99 ... based on a currency converter, that's $7.43 cheaper than craigix is selling for at his site!!

I really like the game, so I'll likely buy it from gp32z ... it's damn addicting :)

Nah, I think something like 16-32MB SD-cards.

Personally I wouldn't buy Vectar, simple cause I don't like spaceshooter's and I bought the GP2X for emulation and homebrew, not for commercial games.

I was orignally all revved up to buy this game.
Then I took a look at the free version.
Where's the change at? The only thing I noticed was different was that one of the baddies in the free version was made a boos level in the demo.

Craig gonna really have to pull something out of a hat in the commercial version to make me want it now.

Payback I'll buy that, that DOES look good.
