Warranty Will Do What?

Well, I've looked into it--my GP2X is bricked (fully, u-boot is corrupt), however it meets the requirements for it to be valid under warranty. I contacted my dealer, they said I need to ship it to GPH in South Korea. They couldn't confirm if they would renew it or just fix and install new FW on it (or even send it back the same?). Anyway, what happens? Will GPH renew it with a MK2 (or MK1 even?). It was a hardware failure during firmware upgrade (1.4 to 2.0), my dealer agrees with me on this.

If I just get it repaired, I'd rather send it to EvilDragon and pay him to fix it (will probably be faster and cheaper), otherwise it's off to Korea! Would anyone trade a brand new GP2X with 2.0.0 FW for a bricked MK1, near mint condition (dust under protector, not visible during use)? (just thought I'd throw that in :p )

Thanks.

They said on the phone it would be faster to send it to the other side of the world. x.x

Could be, I get stuff from Hong Kong (Lik-Sang.com) much faster than stuff I order from Washington, the Great Lakes or the West Coast. :)

Add that to the fact that they may have to send it back to Korea themselves and there is your problem.

I think they will just repair it, its a small company, it's not that they make lik e 10000 units a day or something. So I think it will be cheaper for them to just repair it.

If you are in England then you can inform them of some lovely British trading standards laws that should help them change your mind.
