Wii Pricing Announced

Gas companies don't make that much off a gallon, at least here in the US because the damn goverment has so many fricking taxes on it, both federal and state. It was researched and i believe the profit to the oil company per gallon of gas is like 34 cents, when you factor purchase price, delivery and refining, and local governments rules and regulatrions, like emmisions, on something that is almost $3 a gallon here in the states.

But, Exxon made the record profit in the history of mankind, despite all that. How would you explain that?

Other than that, Nintendo have said forever that Wii was going to be less than $250

249.99 < 250.00

This is true, but there really isn't any reason for them not to launch at $199, and if I had a record of never launching for more than that, I would think it would be in my best interest to be able to continue to say that they've never launched a console for more than $199.

Someone change the title of this thread, or something.

sorry but at leats in my eyes, loss of profit = loss of monies is pretty much common sense. How could you lose profit without losing money?

[Edit: wrong info ;) ]. Ninty is all about extremely efficient bussiness model; they've been number one efficient company in Japan for a long time.

BTW as a side subject, how would you explain current gas companies like Exxon making record revenues while oil price is sky high? If you're running a bakery, and if the cost of flour goes up, you can't have record revenue because of added cost, isn't it? Was Starbucks making record revenue when coffee bean price spiked up a few years ago? How about OJ companies during orange price jumps in the past year?

You welsh?

Yeh its quite interesting that they only mentioned USA and Japan in their statement along with the fact they hope to have 7 million units out worldwide by the end of the fiscal year. To me, that sounds like us Europeans are gonna have to wait until March, just like with the DS, to get the Wii. If it doesnt launch in the UK by the end of the year then they can f**k off basically. Use Europeans always get pushed to the side just to satisfy the US and Japanese markets. Wat ever happened to Reggie's saying that Europe may be the first place to receive the console?

Angel is taking absolute rubbish. Don't listen to a word he says. About anything.

about what? prove me wrong. You can't compare Gas to anything. There are BILLIONS of gallons of gas consumed, even at .32cents profit per gallon x BILLIONS IS HUGE, god people, mcdonalds probably makes more than .32cents on a hamburger..THE HUMANITY, PRICE GAUGING, god grow up people.

And for those that think i don't know what i'm talking about

http://www.conocophillips.com/newsroom/oth...a_gallon_of_gas

The truth is, the oil companies don't make that much money on a $1 of gas. To many regulations and taxes. They just sell so much of it that the numbers look much greater than they actually are.
