Bikes And Stuff

there two vastly different bikes. it depends what you're wanting to do?

the giant is a jump bike - more suited to messing about on the streets

the trek is a more traditional mountain bike for out on trails etc.

they both have quite a low spec though

Yeah, i use my bike to ride to town, but i also might wanna do some small jumps, wanna practice wheelies etc,

So im guessing I'm looking for an "all purpose" type bike, I dont wanna have any trouble if i get the trek and wanna do a jump for example

Yeah, low spec cos im a poor bastard :p (£300 is my limit)

a jump bike sounds more your stamp then.

how far is town for you?, cos a lot of jump bikes have limited gearing and distance isnt ideal.

you only up for new? your local ad-mag or e-bay will have loads of second hand bikes for sale- you can usually find someone selling a last-year model (that theyve pimped the spec on) cos they need to buy this years colour or whatever.

the good ones are usually quite easy to spot - they will list what theyve put on it

a little research on cycle parts will give you a clue to what a good upgrade have been done

the MBUK website will help you too

town cant be mroe than a 2miles. Yeah ill look for local advertisement, I think i will go with the trek, it looks cool and looks like a general purpose bike...

i've got a trek 4900 its pretty well built, rides pretty smooth on the roads and can handle trails and jumps pretty well

Yeah.. now i gotta hope that an 18" bike aint to big...... i'm only 5'5"
