Are there any plans for supporting the pdf format by the e-book reader? If not is anyone working on a decent speed one? I know there is one available but its pretty much unusable.

I'm not sure pdf is the best format for eBooks on the GP2X, you could use one of those HTML converters and then use Links, I guess.

Ravnos, that was nice of you ... but I think the comment;

I know there is one available but its pretty much unusable.

... negates your assistance ;)

why is it unuseable?
takes its time on the first page but than its smooth as it loads the next page while you are reading the current one.
its as good as it gets.

It tends to freeze on me and it takes a really, really, really long time to load up. I loaded a pretty simple 2 page document too.

Ever used the average PDF reader on the PC side of things? That's pretty much the norm.

yeah pdfs (& postscript) are more for making sure everything prints exactly right...even text-only pdfs can get quite large. seems like overkill to try and read pfs on a device with smallish screen...unfortunately the format has become pretty universal and so that's where the content is.

but then again i'm amazed that people try to read things at all on mobile devices, as i much prefer to print things out. and for the few comics that i've read (preacher, transmetropolitan, 90s batman makeovers) i think digitizing them would "defeat the purpose" in a manner of speaking...

sorry but i have a lot of caffeine and opinions in my system.
