Ok, these might seem a bit odd, but does anyone know of anyplace that still sells Afterburner kits? I found one place but it seems "questionable" to say the least. Alternatively, does anyone know of a site that describes how to make your own Afterburner-like setup? I couldn't find anything while googling, but I thought I'd check. I prefer the way the original GBA feels in my hands to the SP and I hate getting rid of good hardware, so I'm wondering if there's a good solution here.

They can be found here. but it is a bit expensive. I got mine from Lik Sang years ago and I remember it only costing about £8 ($14 USD). They are okay but take a little getting used to - the light is not as good as on the SP.

They do turn up on eBay fairly regularly, I think.

Shit, I remember finding that one, too. I was hoping for someplace reliable and cheaper than $80+ Canadian. :( £38 is a lot of money after the exchange.

Edit: they're out of stock, too, and I doubt they're going to get more since the afterburner was discontinued.

If I was going to get either, it'd be the SP, but like I said, I like the feel of the original GBA and I'd hate to get rid of otherwise good hardware. It's not much use without a light, though, and external lights suck. :(

I also much prefer the original GBA to the SP and Micro, having owned all 3. I was going to pick up an Afterburner on ebay before they become completely extinct, but since i got my DS i havnt bothered. The original GBA is still great if your going to be outside.

Also, check out the Halo Light. Its supposed to be pretty decent.

The afterburner light is decent enough, but it was a real bugger to install... Smudges, gluestains...

It works, surprisingly, my own installation...
