I just tried to use some of my icons (like the one for ssnes) and for some reason, my 2x still uses the default icon symbol instead of my .png What could cause this? (my .png spelling matches the .gpe exactly)

same thing is happeng to me, but its with the body image of the battery, it wont change o_O;

Oh, thats becaue that image does shit. The bg image is in the imgcommon folder and its the only .png there not used anywhere else. ITs used for information and battery background.

just to be clear: you're not including ".gpe" in your png names are you? also, you may have to restart your unit for the sd changes to be recognized.

not including .gpe and using card reader so always restarting unit (some of the icons work for me, but some don't get recognized and I don't know why)

well i tried the four that you posted recently and all of them seem to work (pez, bubble train, drmdx, frozen bubble).

@rokdcasbah:

Bring up a command line interface and cd to the directory on your SD where the non-working icon is.

then do an ls / dir and check that they are actually exactly the same name (except the obvious .gpe .png difference)

Nothing really new to add.

I make mine 32x32, 32bit png.

Name of icon to match the name of the gpe, and you could even change the name of the .gpe to match that of your icon if you wanted.

Are you actually saving the files as PNG or just renaming windows icons from .ico to .png?

cos that won't work :unsure:

I finally got them to work, but I had to name SquidgeSNES "ssnes" and DrMDx "drmdx" with no caps or I had to number them. I also had to change BubbleTrain to "bubble" and BunnyTraps to "bunny". It's strange that I can't name them what I want, but I'll settle for this for now.
