Lets have a little fantasy for a moment :p What games that WOULD run well on GP2X would you think would be the most awsome ports ever..... if only their source were avalable.

For me, top 5 would be...

System Shock
(2X could handle the floppy version no problem, CD version should be much of a prob either)
Realms Of The Haunting
(only problem would be the size of it, but that could be worked around and not a hardware problem, just SD size problem)
Fallout
(This would push the hardware a lot but I think it would definately be possible, and Fallout 1 and 2 are simply the best games ever and a portable version would be better than the best thing ever!)
Quarentine // Road Warrior
(Awsome games that kicked Carmageddons ass years before it was ever made)
Any Mechwarrior or Battletech game
(constraints here are the masses of controls needed, but I think using L and stickpush as "shift" buttons it would be very possible)

In a perfect world. Hell, I'd pay full price for any one of those ports, but alas, nerry shall it be.

What would *yours* be? *points randomly*

I would certainly agree with you on Fallout. Maybe Daggerfall? I don't know if the 2x would be powerful enough to run it anyway. But if there were Daggerfall sources I would love a new PC port to play with (A little off topic...).

At the moment.. :) yazor I believe has done some preliminary work on remaking the LBA2 engine.

Besides, what's so great about LBA2 as opposed to the original?

Allan.

Systemshock might be possible too, as there is a engine recode project (sorry don't have the link right now).
It is at a quite early stage though, and hasn't made any progress since some time :(

whats the deal with sources?

is there a set path for attempting to get stuff released?

i suppose, generally, its not the coders who own the rights to the code? Its the publishers right?

Its a shame to think that there must be a load of source out there in the big wide world that will never serve any further purpose....

DIABLO, but without a mouss (or a touchpad, humm, who said Nintendo DS  ) it will be different, but still possible, look a the Lord of the Ring GBA games

The System Shock Hack Project has been declared clinically dead for a few years now, so unless someone picks up the reigns it's unlikely.

Go play the Playstation version of Diablo - you'll find that Diablo can be plenty of fun without a mouse. I even prefer the controls in the PS version over the PC version because you don't have to stop and click to pick up items.

My top 5 would be

1) Eye of The Beholder 1&2 (The best Dungeon RPG ever made IMHO)
2) Blood
3) Lord of the Realms (Cool turnbased Statergy)
4) Lemmings
5) Worms

I just hope dosbox is ported to the GP2X so that I can play EOTB. It would be like christmas and my birthday rolled into one... :D

Wow wow wow
I was thinking that scummvm was only for LucasArts games ?
