Ok, I am officially sick and tired of all these people making thread after thread about how they hate this and that part of the GP2x and this and that should be fixed, and they want to return it for this and that reason. Have a gripe? Post it here, don't make another thread about it. Please, clean up the forums, and stop flooding it with crap.

Thank you,
(A satisfied GP2x user, Jeff [PsyMastR])

I got one ...

I find myself playing it so much, it's wearing a shiny spot around the buttons.

Seriously, it's starting to look ugly :(

you know that this will not work, and you have only added another junk thread to the crap?

better advice to complainers would be: search! for fucking sake please just search for the thread that already addresses your bone-head!

Well, this may not work, but its better to try and fail, then to do nothing at all.

I wonder if people stopped and saying "use the search!" , then it may cut down on the litter on the forum?

just a thought. :p

Instead of saying "Use the search!" You have to say "Use the search and if the topic you find is related but doesn't have the answer you want, don't post in it and keep looking! Then, if you can't find the answer, post a thread in the help forums."

Thats oil from your fingers. Try using a damp cloth on it.

But other than that, it's just perfect, right Reaper? *laugh*

Couple of the things you mentioned is possible to fix with firmware, some of the features you mentioned were left out for cost reasons, that's why you didn't pay an extra fortune for it. A couple of the things you mention aren't important to EVERYONE, just some people.

Firmware sourcecode has been discussed to death, so I wont go into that.

I agree with you on the joystick cap, the slight screen flicker, the AC Power plug being where it is, and the not playing movies thing.

Complaint 1: Slightly dodgy joystick.
Complaint 2: Very slightly messed up screen.
Complaint 3: I had to put the screen protector on myself.
Complaint 4:Bugs in some places.
Complaint 5: Features and handheld in general seems immature.
Complaint 6: No Source.

Pretty much...

Well, the buttons aren't too small, your thumb is too big, but just think about what they say about guys with big hands and big feet.

Just kidding, I find the buttons slightly small as well, but still workable.

If you looked at the MagicEyes SOAC's features and pinouts there is no place to add a wireless adapter, except as an SDIO device-- that would preclude the existance of the SD slot on the machine and require the use of more expensive CF cards ONLY. Wireless would make the machine significantly more expensive, take time to implement, be used by very few applications. Web browsing on the machine would be a pain in the ass, and if you think the battery life needs work NOW, wait til you have a 2.4 GHz transmitter going on top of that.

It just came out. Do you want a mouse, an external hard disk, an attachable HandyGear accessory to make it waterproof, and an attachment that gives you foot rubs and vacuums your rug before it's out of true beta testing too? It has a USB port and an extension port, third parties are developing accessories. Have some patience.

Have fun typing in file names with the D-Pad.. I cannot think of one portable device that lets you do this except for a full-scale Pocket PC. And even there it's annoying to type in new filenames and move files about.

lack of docking station
I'm sorry, do you need to have your keyboard, mouse, monitor and printer connect to it all at once? What the christ is wrong with a USB jack when that's all the PC connectivity it has?

Do you so desperately need more than one card in the machine at a time? As for CF, usually SD cards cost less, and a CF reader/writer in the machine would use a good bit of space even if there is room to put a HOLE in the casing there, does not mean there is room BEHIND it for an actual reader/writer slot.

agreed. Dave's is a good alternative.
8-way? why? K.I.S.S.
8-way is better then fourway.
buttons are okay, but larger or farther apart is better
Buttons are fairly typical. Not really a complaint then?
goddamn battery light
True, damn it. Give me a warning.
it said it was supposed to play *MOVIES* didn't it
It played all my movied... And I've testing it a lot. Are you still on early firmware?
opengl3d is handy
lol, are you freakin joking. What kind of complaint is that. It's not like they advetised it as the ultimate 3d machine to begin with.
firmware sourcecode!
Yeah
one SD slot--what's this? there's room for like 7. or some CF
do you know how much that woujld cost? And CF is not so poular these days.
AC plug on the side
true, I'm sure some people like to plug their portable game machine into a wall to use it.
styrene construction--feels like a milk jug attracts fingerprints
Feels smooth and sexy to me.
the screen is going to give me seizures
Really? It's fine for me. I'm a bit annoyed with the interlace though.
casing around headphone jack needed to leave more space for headphones
Works on all my headphones. Maybe you're unlucky.
loading...loading...loading...loading...loading...loading...freeze
Yep, but if you dont put your SD card in, it never crashes. ;)
filebrowser? yep, it browses files. good luck moving/copying/running/renaming them
Can't you use your computer for that... It's a little easier then using a handheld.
unreliable TV out
can't comment.
lack of docking station
maybe if it was a $400 PDA with lithium, then you might expect this.
sdio what?
Was never supported, but I'm sure someone will get it working.
why no wireless? it's the 21st century....
yes, a wifi would be worth the extra $50 added to the cost, so I can play against the 2 or 3 people in canberra who have a GP2x, that I don't know or care about.
*cough*keypad accessory*cough*
Right, all handheld gaming machines needs keyboard support from day one. I'm sure one will turn up in good time.

Are you really complaining about so many things. I'm a little annoyed with a few things, but I'm not ready to complain about anything.

Along with the GPL freaks, these people are making this section of the forum a real chore at the moment. I mean, why does anyone buy the GP2X without reading up on opinions first? If they'd done their research they would have been aware of all the faults and niggles before hand. It's like buying a PS2 and then complaining that you need a multitap for four player games.

I'd agree with these.

Ah, the marvulous internet. I'd agree to that. But a much cheaper solution would be using the USB cable connected to the internet via a proxy on your PC.

Or even a new multiplay cable to plug into the EXT port.
