why can anybody not take a bit of friendly debate. i never said that emulators were illegal. ijust said that these sites know full well that the emulators would be used to play copyrighted games. just as in the same way they may know that these boards may be used to talk about these games. Now.... it seems that everybody is easily offended and censorship mad here, so i will leave it alone.

You really started off on the wrong foot by asking for people to share commercial games with you. Now no one is going to listen to a word you have to say. So leave and never return

So long as you own that copyrighted game, and your countries law allows backups, then having the rom image of a game you own isn't illegal. The only games I play on the GP32 are the ones I own... mainly because I own all the good games, and don't see any point in playing the rubbish ones :p

Besides, downloading a nes/snes rom, isn't losing nintendo any money, unless you were planning on purchasing a remake for the GBA, if one was available. If you buy a nes/snes game nowadays, your buying it off ebay or wherever, where the profits don't go to nintendo. You download a commercial GP32 game, and gamepark is losing the money they require to keep the GP32 alive.

Simple as that...

that is not necessarily correct. many of the snes games you talk of are now being ported over to the gba. therefore downaloding and playing these roms is losing nintendo money.
anyway i ahve said what i wanted to...... it didnt exactly go down a storm and so i will leave the whole topic behind.

i will buy a gp32 very soon. im not so sure how i will send files to the gp32.
Will i need to buy a smart media card reader for my pc, or do i have to stick the smartmediacard into the gp32 and just sent the files straight to the gp32 with the smc. Im not so sure what extras i will need in order to play my games, mp3's, and small videos. Will i need to download any extra sorftware or do i need to buy any extra software. So the main question is what do i need to make the gp32 run. Im from the USA so i need a kind of list to show me what to buy when i get the amazing gp32.

Everyone who owns a GP32 is a decent tax-paying citizen that owns the original roms. (shhhh!)

He has point though.

This is very true, that is why you dont ask how or where to get roms here. It is illegal and should not be posted on this forum.

Oh and boxing, you dont NEED a smart card reader, gamepark has a read/write function built in. Just hook your gamepark upto your comp with the usb cable, and set up drivers and the transfer software.

He does have a point but with a small company like game park they need people like him like i need my balls cutting off if eveyone was like him the gp32 would have gone down like the titanic piracy is a real problem and im not saying i dont do it cause i do just like everybody else on the board but we dont take the piss and ask for roms and shit cause thats bad rico said that he had asked for this guy to be banned and thats what should happen

All you will need is the GP32 and a Smart Media 'CARD"'not a reader. The GP32 acts as a reader (although you get better and more consistent results with the 'Reader'.

Also - I would at least buy a 128MB card as they tend to fill up fast!
