Outcast (castaway Module) -- Release 007!

I cant seem to get Amberstar to work, as Disk A needs to be installed, and then when i load b into the b drive, it tells me to switch in disk c into the a drive, but this crashes when I do that for the c disk.

i just noticed the

was not was

reference on the emulator loading screen ;)

So this means definitely that it is not possible to load savestates from old versions?

As I have already reinstalled version 005 I am not able to check the reference on the loading screen of version 007. ...and I am just too lazy to fiddle around with my sd card again. First I have to win the highest league in stunt care racer.

nope the ref to
was not was

is nothing to do with the save states but more to the

skeezix not skeezix reference :)

apologies for the confusion

*g* I wondered if anyone would get the was-not-was reference :)

old states should work I imagine.. I've been loading some xenon 2 states for testing. Still.. significant changes from 005 to 006.

You can have both versions co-existing.

/me is on phone

Ya, can anyone tell me what flashes before the emulator starts, it says something about skeezix.

basically there used to be a cracking group in the ST days called

was not was

skeezixs emulator starts with a psuedu de-crunching screen oops(that the miggy in me) i mean uncompacting screen saying

by skeezix not skeezix

rather than

was not was

Yeah, I got a laugh the first time I loaded up OutcaST and saw that. Indeed a subtle and great scene reference ;)

BTW - so far the mouse acceleration button is working brilliantly! Momentary is the way to go, toggle would be pants. So would that regular mapping of diagonals to the shoulder button idea. Though if someone wants it in their own custom config and not the default - more power to 'em.

Say... Since the mouse acceleration button works nicely - in the virtual keyboard, could you possibly increase the scroll speed of the selector while holding the same button? :)

Samples and music so far sound great. Chaos still plays its great short samples, and the longer digimusic is good. Floppy indicators are a great touch. Very nice release indeed! :D

Hmm, I had a sundog.st image loaded and saved it. Then I got a sundog-save.st

When I loaded the sundog-save.st and saved it - I got a sundog-save-save.st

-save-save? Damn, I put in some code to prevent that, but maybe didn't test it. I'll check :)

You likely don't need to save per se anyway and can use savestates, but saving is a good way to move data to the desktop emus and such.

I have a question. Did anyone get civilization working? Everytime i try to run it, it goes half way through the intro and asks for "Disk A," while disk A(i think) is emulated. Ive tried changing the 4 of the images around but to no avail. This is a problem with all multi disk roms.

the old stunt car racers save states do not work. All I get is a black screen in version 007.

How, ist it possible to change the name of one of the gpe files and to have both emulators in the root of the sd card?

Sure; it just shows the part of the filename before .gpe I think.. off the top of m yhead I don't think it looks in the file to name it, a la GP32/PSP/etc. So try renaming one to OutcaST005 say..

Stuntcar itself runs fine in 007, right? Just the 005 state is funky? A shame :/

Thanks for the advice. I would have tried it before asking, but I do not have the gp2x with me at the moment.

Stunt Car Racer works fine in 007, I only had problems with my top league save state.

True, but Sundog is a weird ass game to keep stable. Trying to avoid the savestates, though it likely doesn't make a difference. ;)

Man, I've been having such a blast playing Chaos on a portable. One of the best ST games ever made. Anyone who hasn't tried it should http://l-o-c.sourceforge.net/chaos.zip - Now! ;)

Now if only there was a way to accelerate the selection cursor in the virtual keyboard. Hmmm....

Is that Chaos Strikes Back you mean?
No, this is Chaos - an ST port of Chaos (precursor to Lords of Chaos). Anyone looking at it for the first time will probably think "What is this piece of crap" - but it's a great game to play when you get into it. And the sampled sound is priceless :)
