I finally did... I ordered one. After following this community for a while, I've decided I could'nt live with out one. I already use my PC for emulation more than "real games". Although the system I remember best (the Amiga) is not emulated (yet ? ;) ), I'm sure I'll have lots of fun trying make different stuff out on this thing.

After trying the GeePee32 emulator, I've reallly become convinced that this is something for me.

And i'm really excited about the whole open source too...
Just can't wait

i had an amiga but not missing it, the ST emulator plays everything that i would play on the amiga, admitidly the sound is shite on an ST though

Yes, If you meen the back-lit I did... Although I really had to pinch my self paying the extra cash... I never actually owned a game-boy, so I'm not really familiar with the troubles of lighting, or how big a problem this can be.

About emulating the Atari... I really never seen this system - everybody I knew back then got an Amiga, and I never tried emulating it either...
For the Amiga I used to love fighting games - they were only one-button... The day I tried SF2 on a snes, I really got my ass kicked ;)

Good for you man!!! I got mine in the mail today and I love it allready...
I hope you're gonna have as much fun as I'm having!!!

Welcome aboard Ringo. If you liked GeePee at all, you will love your GP32.

I too long for an Amiga emulator, but there are lots of other systems right now that run great, and with new stuff always on the horizon, being a GP32 owner is both fun and exciting.

It's not backlit. It's Frontlit. FLU = Front Light Unit.

thnaks for clarifyring that for me... It just that gbax.com has begun using the term back-lit about their unit. Was actually wondering about it, since I never found anything about a "back-lit" model on GamePark's home page.

Oh my god - another dane! Jesus crist it's swarming with us now! And I thought I was the only one!

Hejsa, godt at se dig!

I actually thought I might be one out of few.... How many danish Gp32 owners do you reckon there is?

tak, det dejligt at være her ;)

I hope I will have mine in just a couple of weeks.

Amiga emulation would be great on the GP32 but I don't think it will do more then 500 style games.

Games for the 1200 and 4000 use AGA and even PC's break their back trying to emulate that at a decent speed.

I don't need emulation on the PC because I have 5 Amiga's at home and am really in to the Amiga scene. Here is what I have:

Amiga 600 and an Amiga 1200 with a 68030 at 50 MHz and 32 MB RAM.
2 towered Amiga 1200! One has a dual processor board with a 68040 / 25 MHz and Motorola PowerPC 603e / 175MHz with 96 MB RAM and a Permedia 2 based video card.
The other has a dual processor board with a 68060 / 50 MHz and a 603e / 240 MHz with 96 MB RAM and a PCI-board with a Voodoo 3 card in it.

The I also have the newest Amiga called the AmigaOne( has been out for half a year now). It has a Motorola G3 at 800 MHz with 256 MB RAM and a Radeon 8500. I run Linux on it because Amiga OS 4 isn't ready yet.

If you're wondering what this dual processor thingy is go to www.amiga-hardware.com and look for a turbo board with the name BlizzardPPC. Wonderfull piece of engineering.

I'm actually surprised to see that there are Amiga-owners in this time and age... All I ever got was the Amiga 500 - but, BOY did it last long. It was'.nt until DOOM came for the PC, I even considered changing platform.
I think I still have 2 Amiga 500's in my parents garage. I just can't remember why I have 2.

I read about the new Amiga One a while back... How good is that machine? IS it mac compatible? Can it do all a modern platform is supposed to... And is there any game-development for it?

I'm not selling any of my machines. Way too cool to play Quake, Quake 2, Shogo and Heretic 2 on my towered Amiga 1200 machines.

The AmigaOne runs pretty good so far. Debian runs good on it so Mac on Linux runs on it too but you won't see that advertised! It's like the Nintendo thing with the GamePark32. Don't piss Apple off too much.

But I am only interested in AmigaOS 4. It isn't ready yet but I don't mind. If you see what AmigaOS 3.9 does on my 68060 at 50 MHz wait and see what OS 4 does on an 800 MHz G3!!!

Games development is slow at the moment because the OS as to be ready first.
