How do I get a game from a PSX cd to a .bin file to run on our sexy new handheld?

Sorry I have no idea, please give detail as thouh you are talking to a child!!!!

Ta x

If you are in linux:

cdrdao read-cd --read-raw --device ATAPI:confused:,?,? filename.toc

Where --device ATAPI:confused:,?,? is your cdrom drive id, you can know what is with "cdrdao scanbus"

EDIT: typo and the ATAPI thing

Get any software that can dump CD to bin/cue or ISO.

I suggest MagicISO

1. In MagicISO go "Tools", then "Make ISO from CD/DVD-ROM"
2. Select the CD/DVD-ROM drive the PSX disc is in
3. Select an output file (Disc images are about 700MB, make sure you have space)
4. "Output Format" Select "BIN Image file"
5. Wait for it to be done
6. Copy BIN and CUE files to SD card
7. Run PSX Emulator and select the BIN file to run

some archiving programs can read isos as normal (I know Winrar does) so you ought to just be able to open them with something like that, and replace the offending files... well, it seems to me like that should work, though i'd make a backup copy first to be sure.

so i can just make a new text file and rename it to VID01.avi (example) and not do anything else but replace the file in the iso and it should work? it wont crash when loading the dummy avi?

Oh man! And I gave all PSX games away to my nephew. poo

That's a rather odd name for your nephew ;)

I'm sure he wouldn't mind you borrowing them back a few at a time.

Poo... isn't that the dude from earthbound?

I need to see if a friend of mine who still has an old PS1 still has some decent games for it, see if I can borrow em a while... I always liked Theme Park ;)
