Hey, I am planning to buy GP2X soon, but I was wondering if it could handle original NES at maybe.. 10-20 frameskip and ~15 Fps? Would be extremely nice, not sure if it could even run it at 30 framskip tho :/

NES will almost positively run at full speed, frameskip 0, with sound, and high compatability.
Sweet! If NES and Sega Genesis can run at full speed, I will be one happy camper :) I am only buying the gp2x for emulation, I've been brought up with NES followed by Sega, so having em on a handheld would rock :)

30 frameskip? boy that would be funny... you might as well turn your GP2X off, put it down, take a cocktail of drugs and go to a rave.

PiratSS, don't listen to any of these guys. They're too optimistic and don't know what the hell they're talking about.
Expect to see NES at *maybe* 10 FPS. Any faster on such hardware is pure science fiction.

ROTFLMAO! 10 FPS! Maybe on Mario 1, on the first level only. I get like 2-4 FPS on everything else and that is with 20 frameskip on :D :D :D

Are you sure you didn't overclock it to 133GHz? instead of MHz? :D :D :D :D

:( I want to play! Seriously though, 58-60 fps on gp32 is pretty neat.

If my gameboy advance can run fullspeed NES with sound via Pocketnes 9.98...expect almost any handheld after that to be able to...If a handheld gaming device you buy can't run an NES emu, than it probably isn't worth buying...

NES got ported to the DS in less than a year after release, and it took less than a month for the dev to port it...

I don't see why it couldn't be done on an opensource handheld with a bigger scene much faster than that...especially since devs have had the hardware for a little while already...

I think you guys are being trolled. :)

Frankly, I expect skilled programmers to eventually be able to emulate anything up to and possibly including the PSX (with software rendering of the polys) on the dual ARM-200's of this bad boy.
