Whats Craig Got For Us?

I use huge standing stones and hammer out my code in viking runes. Takes a bit of time and effort but it's definately worth it. Nothing else will survive Ragnarok.

Personally, I'm a fan of those Viking Runes... although I'm curous what the Vikings originally ran any of their own code on before electronic computers :)

How about a simple live distro with the relevant tools/docs on the everybodies on the same page :)

That's what happens when you dont beta test.
Forget beta test, they didn't even alpha test. When the test was almost over, all the workers were dead by then, so they could never analyze the results.

What's the difference between Dev-C++ and GCC4? Can both be used to develop for GP2X?

Dev C++ is an IDE (Integrated Development Environment, i.e. pretty text editor ;)). It uses GCC (or a few other compilers) to compile code behind the scenes so it is perfectly compatible.

Dev C++ uses MinGW by default, which is a stripped down version of the GNU toolchain.
It also has a nice feature that allows you to have multiple configurations.
Very nice for cross-compilation.

Several docs are floating around that show you how to config it for DevKitArm etc.
IIRC I saw a couple referenced in these very forums.

One big thing to watch out for here, when you're ready to actually compile your source is to not use the shortcut keys F9 or Ctrl-F10 (Compile & Run and Run), as Dev-C++ will give the compiled source a *.exe extension and actually try to run it.

You'll have to get used to renaming the file to *.gpe ( I'm guessing here), and running it in either ARMulator, or a userland emulator to test the code.

. . . speaking of which, is any dev out there working on something similar to GeePee32 ???
