I just received my GP32 BLU bundle, I want to flash the firmware but was wondering, I have heard of GP32 BLU+ version, mine is labeled just GP32 BLU (no "+") so do I flash it with firmware meant for regular GP32 or BLU+?

Thanks!

Not sure why you want to flash your GP32 so early after receiving it ?. You do know the consequences of a bad flash ?. Why not at least get some use and enjoyment out of it first before you risk killing it. It`s not hard to flash your GP, But the risks can be quite high for someone who has never done it before.

How to test if you own a Blu or a Blu+:

Copy DrMD (the genesis emulator) over to the GP32`s GPMM folder, Create a folder in the GPMM folder called Genesis and copy a game rom or two into that folder (the Genesis folder) ie sonic. Run DrMD on the GP32 and load a game, If you get any strange graphic errors, Go back to the menu (press L & R buttons together). Go to the screen option in the menu and change it from samsung to taiwanese and play the game again. Does it correct the graphical glitches ?, If so, You have a blu+. If you never got any graphical glitches the first time, You have a normal Blu.

Hope you can understand my wafflings. :)

lets not exaggerate, if you take fresh batteries before a flash there's little/no risk :)
just don't turn it of when it's flashing ^^

I agree. I used to be worried about flashing because I heard some horror stories about it but I just recently flashed mine with slubman's firmware and it was VERY simple and I don't see how anything could have gone wrong with new batteries.

^Great advice

Much appreciated guys! It seems when I switched to taiwanese the white line disappeared and the display was perfect so it seems I have the BLU+ is that good?
I was able (using fresh batteries to run it at the 160mhz setting, my god the Genesis look and run GREAT!

So then, I guess I want to flash because I am one of those people who always want to get the most out of a system, I am looking for suggestions as to which firmware is the most fully featured / useful and how would I go about flashing it? I will make sure I use new batteries! THANKS!

:D

I have slubman's firmware and really like it but there really isn't a "best" firmware. I've heard many people say that they love the multifirmwares that are out there (not sure which ones...). Check out THIS site to get an idea of what's available.
