i dont really know many of the sms games what would people say the best are. Now i have perfect nes + + atari st + sms + pc engine emulatorss *laughs evilily*

a few sms games:
altered beast
sonic the hedgehog
streets of rage
mortal kombat
bubble bobble

and pretty much every nes game thats also on sms is alot better on sms....

Playing Wonderboy in Monsterland now, and you are completly right about it.

fantasy zone
fantasy zone 2 - stunning tunes!!! and some of the nicest SMS graphics ever (gg version is a dog - avoid!)
teddyboy - nice simple platform/shooter
zillion 2
action fighter (spy hunter style)

now go get 'em . . . .

Wonderboy3 (the best 8bit game ever) and robocod (exact to the genesis version, but the parallax isn't working on fsms), powerstrike 1&2 (alestie1&2) etc.

Mofokubik how could u like altered beast on sms? i love the arcade version and the genesis version but the sms version is a piece of c**p.

No offence but the graphics are just way to bad they shouldnt of tryed to port it from the genesis it dosent do the game justice.

But the games u will want to play are the alex kidd games there like mario type of game alex kidd use to be the sega icon b4 sonic came in ;)

Alex Kidd in Miracle World was the best, though they were all pretty good.

Actually, Sega's main mascott before sonic was the Opa-Opa It's that little flying pod with wings from Fantasy Zone. It showed up in a lot of other games (usually as a power-up), and it was in the maze-game that was built into the SMS itself.

True but thats cause opa opa was there mascot in there arcades ages ago.

i believe it did move to alex kidd when it was gaining support in europe cause hes basiclly a sega version of mario so to speak. But i think they had a few im sure space harrier was 1 but i may have it mixed up with his popularity ^^;

Its not a pod believe it or not its an egg with wings  serious thats what i was told was in some of the manuals but i dont know 100% sure still sega rules :D

Cant wait for the system16 emu for gp32 to come out then u can play altered beast the way it was intended....16BIT :D

Hmm i was playing wonderboy on fsms and when i finished the first level the screen screwed itself

the second level started and the screen was cut off like the cut the screen in side then the right side was displaye dont he left.

I just switched back to normal video mode then to streched again and it worked fine.

Still just wondering if that was a bug.

Reminds me of Frodo - had the same error.

But the error can be easily fixed: Save your game, change to the rom selection screen, reload the rom and load the game :)

I was really impressed with the graphics in altered beast for sms. You would be too if you played the nes version. The sms version is just a step down from the genesis version, and not bad at all...

That alex kid game for sms (any of them) is garbage in my opinion. The one on genesis pwns all. DAMN, we need a genesis emu up in this joint...

A quick way to solve the 4 way screen bug is just to enter the menu and exit it.

(from the readme & gp32emu forum)

Alex the kid in high tech world.......scariest game ever! You touch anything and you die in some freak accident.
Couple of example's.

Try on the old armor (you pick yes)
To bad you are now trapped in the armor for eternity as it is too heavy and no one will ever find you.

Switch on the computer? (you choose yes)
To bad the computer was faulty you have just been electrocuted to your death.

Man that game was screwed.

Anyhoo I suggest you try,

Mickey mouse and the castle of illusion (great graphics and sound as well as challenging gameplay)

Sonic (quick piece of fact, It was not made by sega this game. Sonic 1 for SMS is actually a fan produced piece of software made by a genesis envy sms coder. It was so good that Sega bought it.)

Shadow of the beast...rock hard classic gameplay.

Sumbarine attack

G-Loc.
