R.i.p. Tapwave Zodiac

Sure, it comes with a wall adaptor, but keeping the battery forcibly charged by leaving the power adaptor in all the time damaged the battery

We live the battery powered devices Era ... any other battery from the same voltage could replace the original ... and everyday they are smaller so no problem to fit :D and everyday they are higher capacity too :D

Bullshit.

A PDA battery is much more complicated, it has sensors to measure the heat, it has certain charging cycli...

Certainly does, yes. But rip off the circuit board that does all that and you have a standard battery pack which can be replaced :)

Before the Zodiac there was GP32. After the Zodiac there is still GP32.
Personally I now rejoice in the fallen smugness of those who championed the Zodiac on another, now defunct, GP32 forum.

I don't think you'll find "fallen smugness" in the Zodiac croud, as to them, from the look of the GPX2 specs, the GPX2 is the poor mans Zodiac :) No touchscreen, no yamaha sound chip, hashed up 2d accelerator instead of a proper one, only 32mb ram...

Sure, there's some advantages of the GPX2 (eg. digital stick), but what I'm trying to say is, why console bash? There's no need for it, so please, stop talking crap.

Squidge - first off get your interpretation right before you accuse someone of talking crap.
I was not console bashing, and I was not attacking Zodiac users. I was attacking those on a GP32 USER SITE who actively promoted the Zodiac as a better console and used that site to promote their own interests.
Next time read the post properly before you rush to respond.
Oh and for you information, this is a forum where opinions are expressed. To accuse people of talking crap is not in the spirit, whether you are a "GP Guru" or not.

Who cares whether it's the better machine - THATS NOT THE POINT !
As for the hypocrisy - did you actually read the reference I gave ? or what I said ? Of course not. People like you and Squidge just rush to comment without thinking about what you're saying. The site in question was a GP32 SITE - get it ? not a ZODIAC site. If you smell hypocrisy I suspect it's deep within your twisted interpretation.

Oh, of course, its a GP32 site.

So you are not allowed to prefer another handheld and express that.
(Hum, didn´t you say something about free opinios and their expressions...?)

FGS will you please look back at the history of THAT site. It's one thing to express a preference for another console in the proper place eg on this site it's under "Other stuff" > "Other Consoles".
However, it's another thing when administrators of a GP32 site ACTIVELY promote an alternative console on their Frontpage News Items.
Can you imagine Coca Cola promoting Pepsi Cola on their site ?
Please look again at the context and reference in my original comment.

Whats wrong with a GP32 site telling people there's a new console in town? A GP32 isn't just exclusively about the GP32, it's about handheld emulation. The zodiac is just as good in this respect as the gp32, so why not tell people about it on similar sites?

If you were reading some "fizzy drink" website, no doub't they would tell about both coca cola and pepsi cola.

Of course, the Coca cola website wouldn't promote Pepsi Cola, but I don't think Gamepark would advertise the Zodiac either, so that comment is null and void.

It seems that it is you that is now rushing to comment without thinking about what you're saying.

receed, you my friend are an idiot.
Typical of an ESN to resort to name-calling, and to misspell my name.
I am certainly NOT your friend, however I am amused by the paradox in your name "sensible GP32"

you guys think this will mean prices will go up or down?

They had these on sale at Fry's Electronics the other day.... $300 for a Zod 2 with like six games... i was SO close to buying one. If they go down I'll get one.
