If you like having exact control over what you listen to, don't buy a Shuffle. It is not designed for you.

wasnt planning to

i despise i-pods

You can put tracks on it in order, and have sotof playlists. But what's the point? Jjust take out a HD Jukebox. I am sure most gadget heads have at least one knocking around, and when we got them, they were amazing (still are!).

Yes, the new sony looks very nice.

But I still love the ipod, because of the shuffle feature. I've taken out of my Itunes library all the cds I really don't want on there. So the surprise element is never too unpleasent. And the smallness and lightness...

Oh, there i go again....!

:D

Yup, the Sony looks good alright, and if you look at the specs, it's got that magic, special feature.....

Shuffle! :D

I have an iLo (used to be RAVE) 128mb mp3 player that I enjoyed for about a month.. It was small and could hold enough music for trips and going snowboarding(Flash drives don't skip while doing that!!! ) but I also have a green 2nd gen 6gb iPod that has all of my music on that I use for everything other than snowboarding! So it all works out for me

I don't mind iPods. I feel that a thread about a useless marketing gimmick (shuffle) is more worthless than my own presence here.

It's a pretty useless marketing gimmick but the iPod is not just a 'small mp3 player with shuffle', it actually makes its small storage useful by intelligently choosing what songs from your library to import and can regularly change them.

Anyways this sets a precedent, that if someone loves anything, no matter how overpriced or impractical, they can start a thread about it that proclaims their love for it.

There are a few rules, however.

1) The thread title must end with a seemingly innocuous hyphen character.

2) At least one (1) good 'feature' of this product must be present in virtually all other products of the same class e.g. "I shall have music wherever I go"

3) There should be at least one (1) illogical or unusual feature of the device that the author percieves as a benefit e.g. "I love the fact it DOESN'T have a screen"

4) At least three (3) fags must fag up the thread with faggotry by undermining the author's purchase or likings, offering a cheaper alternative that is identical in featureset, or offering sarcastic agreement.

As long as all 4 rules are met, you could concievably start a thread about anything from F1 race cars to diseased cocks without me being bothered.

im not a big fan of the ipod shuffle (its the absence of a screen), but youve gotta respect apple for creating a product that has so much functionality, looks so good, and is hailed by others as a great piece of equipment.
