If Nintendo is the leader, than why is this sentence in the article?

In terms of revenue, Sony is the clear market leader, having generated $45 billion in game related revenue from fiscal 1998 through 2004.

lol, the only reason nintendo make more is because they never sell consoles at a loss, therefore doesn't mean they are better, sony's gross for consoles would be much much higher.

As long as Nintendo appeals to a younger market they will always be ahead in profit. I have a feeling though PSP is going to be putting a hurtin on Nintendo, that is until the next Gameboy is released.

Hopefully this will help kill those ridiculous rumors about Nintendo going software only like Sega did. Sega was going broke, Nintendo is doing just fine even while in 3rd place in the console market.

But im bloody 19 and they appeal to me, my mums 38 and it appeals to her (zelda), my auntie mandy and her husband paul have had every nintendo console.

Thus you are wrong, games appeal to all, and I may be a little tipsy

agree, games appeal to all, but the general appeal to Nintendo is the younger crowd, I'm sorry, i'm 25 and I don't want to play Nintendo Puppy touch games on the DS, but there will be millions of kids that do. But you won't see Sony release something like that. Maybe a third party but not Sony themselves.

Yes. Because the only game to come out on a nintendo machine this year was Nintendo Dogs.

Trust me, most people who respect themselves as gamers will see that GTA is about as 'cool' as every nintendo game.

Games are games, GAMES. God gamers annoy me.

You may be tipsy but, it's true that nintendo has always meant to be an "All Ages" company atleast ever since they started getting M rated games. When they started out it was a youth controlled industry and as people grew up they tried to stay in the middle to not loose touch with the older fans while still trying to bring in younger ones otherwise the older ones will eventually get too old to care about gaming (theoretically) and there'd be no next generation to take their place.

The problem is Sony was better at hooking the older market and Nintendo's avoidance of violance based entertainment is what got them labeled as "kids stuff".

The older market? You mean chavs who think they are cool. Right? I dont know any adults who seriously prefer something like GTA to something like Wario Ware.

FFS, I'm really sick of hearing this "Nintendo? OMFG you kid" attitude, they appeal to many adults, who are not ashamed to show their love for games, instead of hiding behind the 18 rated ones.

Albeit they don't appeal to me, I'm for Sega.
