Wares Did He Get These From I Wonder?

eh, he states right there in the auction that all the software he's offering on the disc is freeware... so what's to get mad about? Maybe this is more convenient for people who dont have broadband and a good way to have all those apps and stuff all at once and not even cluttering up your hard drive.

makes me mad!

What makes me mad is the fact that he pipes music over his auction, thought iTunes was broken.

Well it's a better price then the last one too and has more on it.
The one that I order to see what was on it, has still to arrive, apparently it has been sent but the post office says they don't have it. Even though a card was left though the door.
I ordered it in november.....

I guess he just couldn't be arsed asking all the devs it does take ages.....

Check my sig!

for a start you shouldnt make a profit from freeware!

its like selling shareware - its just not done

Evil Dragon is painstakingly fixing the server - after bandwidth problems!

tell you what I have broadband - ill just D/L all of EDs server - use up all your bandwidth - and then sell em on ebay for £5 -he probably hasnt even got a gP32!

its not wrong as such - just rude!

we should be encourageing the community - not flogging disks - this supports devs etc and contributions and ensures updates!

sPaCe

P.S. oubt theres any Gamepark software on it as they have to be encrypted (could be cracked) - but theres nothing stoping you giving away the registered .dat or .wad files for engines and interpreters instead of the shareware - or roms etc for emulators...

kknd_cf is doing the honest thing and only including homebrew, and asking the devvers permission...If they say no, he won't put their game on. He also makes no profit. So what's your problem?

i didnt say kknd_cf was doing anything wrong - the guy on ebay is though!

however, if kknd_cf sells em for £5 then i think that is wrong - if its freeware it should be non profit!

we may get into a stage where the Gp software is only available on compilation cd that we have to pay for!

you cant rip off an archive and flog it on ebay - its just wrong!

p.s. its just my opinion

i know - i was just making a point!

if you need any help just ask

you could even set up a yahoo project group to distribute it!

like a chain letter but with a cd! you just set two people up to make copies for one another - so on and so forth

the way I see it, the guy on Ebay is not making a profit on the freeware. He states right in his auction that all the software on the DVD is freeware, in other words, he's telling any prospective buyers right there "hey you can get this stuff for free elsewhere, but if you dont want to bother you can pay me money to download and burn it for you."

He's not charging for the software, per se, he's charging for the service of downloading these apps and burning them to a DVD for you, and of course charging for the DVD itself. Seems reasonable to me. But then, I have broadband and spare time so it's easier for me just to get the stuff myself. I dont think it's unfair that he's charging for the service.

I'd be different if he was advertising it in a way that made it sound like he was hooking you up with some great deal or some stuff you couldn't get anywhere else. Maybe if he didn't have the "all the software included on this DVD is freeware" disclaimer than it would be wrong.

Ok, try and find those devs! :D
I wasn't trying to make an arguement by the way, I just didn't want you thinking I was making money of other's work, because that is very wrong.

By the way if you look over ebay loads of over people do this but with stuff on the SMC's. Very mean.

Oh boy... not again.

Technically, it's illegal what he's doing, as he may only charge the costs he has (i.e. DVD). As soon as he charges costs for the work his has with this, it's commercial and he needs the permissions of the author.

BUT as he doesn't charge THAT much, I wouldn't really care about it.
If someone CAN care about, it's a dev - he could write him an eMail that he has to remove his stuff from the DVD.

So, if you want to support kknd_cf's work, just DON'T buy this DVD! It's that easy.
I'm supporting kknd_cf by all means. I sent him all the database entries (including screenshots, descriptions, web links, authors, etc.) from my archive.
He's got a subdomain (http://gpcd.gp32x.de/) and if I can help him with anything more, I'll gladly will :)

So: Don't care about this guy, he won't sell that many DVDs, and wait for kknd_cf's CD (which will be much better as I'm pretty sure that guy at eBay only has files on the DVD, no descriptions or anything sorted...)

Oh, btw, if anyone gets the DVD from him, it would be cool if you could tell me if the categories (if he has any ;)) are the same as I have them in my archive.
I won't sue anyone for this, just out of interest :)

BTW2: The archive is about 75% back. The BoR Stuff is uploaded again.
And the new server is faster (I got 115 kb/sec downloading speed in a test :))

Plus it'd be unfair not to pull him down after we pulled MRGP32CD down.... >_>

Didn't MRGP32 charge much more...?
I remember about 10 Pounds...?
Not sure though

Yep, £10 for the CD! and £3 p&p, and I've been waiting 3 month's, I'll be emailing him again soon for the code of delivery and phone the company up myself.
When it does come, I will post if theres any warez on it.
PS. It has tried to been delivered just I wasn't there and the post office claims not to have it.

Examples
The following are examples of items that may not be listed on eBay:

* Music compilations on CD-R
* The entire first season of a television series on one DVD-R
* Compilation of 500 "freeware" and "shareware" programmes on one CD-R
* A VHS copy of a movie taped off of television

Not to mention that he's making a profit out of other people's hard work...

The entire first season of a television series on one DVD-R

so that means you can do all but one episode on a DVD? cool
