Just want to announce that another text viewer for the GP32 is out. I sent the package to the news mail adress so hopefully it will appear on the main page sometime in the near future along with the specs.

Features:

- 16 colors of text & background to choose from
- two modes of text formatting
- word wrapping
- proportional font
- save/load bookmark
- running at 21MHz to save batteries

OK, I am having some trouble submitting the application, so there it is.

Nice one ... :)

Anyway, there is a new beta version of !reader supporting eastern and russian fonts. I got it for testing and it looks really nice. Author or !reader will finish it in a few weeks and then will release public version. Stay tuned, it's gonna be THE ebook reader for GP32 :)

Nice work WhiteFalcon, a handy little txt reader.

So start your own thread. I'm sure the authors of both readers are really happy with your comments here.

Iorgy77 & aapje89: thanks :)

PiNa1971: Well, I have been thinking about adding other character sets too. Not exactly the russian one, but maybe czech and/or greek. And more language versions. It all depends on feedback as always. Concerning my needs, I am happy with it as it is.

# I tested it on my BLU+. Not bad at all, but used font seems to be too cheesy for me.

# Option for adding own fonts would be REALLY nice. As files with Czech chars screw up display totally :( Dunno why :(

# Formating text works in a tricky way ... support of paragraphs recognition would be nice.

But it is really nice to see a new ebook reader for GP32 released. Keep up your good work.

well, I am already using this
I am keeping a list of console commands for Quake on my GP
will come very in handy when my chatboard gets here ( Come on JRSwiss )

does it read .doc files? or do I need to put them in txt format?

Is it just me/my monitor or is the picture (the letters) very blurry in that area from top to bottom?

and, the word wrap is PERFECT!
its great on paragraphs. Now I can type a report on the gp32 with edge pad and read nicely using this , I could give bookreports with this!

PiNa1971: I hope you have nothing against me because I refused to give you the incomplete dictionary...? Anyway, the font may get improved and maybe I will add more fonts, but own fonts...not too probable. Czech characters doesnt show right now since there is no support for them. And about the third comment, I have been playing around with the formatting for quite many days and I cannot see much to change there. TXT files come in lots of formats and its almost impossible to support them all. There is no standard to a text file, but with text formatting ON GP Book tries to somehow "kick it into shape".

Octavious: I am glad you have use for it :) No DOC support, only plain txt files. On the other hand, you can use TAB spaces to make the text look more formatted.
