So Why Did Lik-sang Stopped Selling Gp32s?

The banner add has been changed to remove the GP32, plus their website says unavailable. I wonder what happened? Did they get fed up with the BLU+ glitches? Anyone know?

Part of an eMail I received from Lik-Sang:

"At the moment we are sort of hesitant about including the GP32 console into
our catalog again, as Gamepark has changed the screen with the new Blue
system and we had many complaints from customers that some of the software
available on the net (like emulators) don't show properly on the new screen.
Perhaps the software might be adjusted in the future by the creators
themselves, and the situation might change then again."

Any more questions? ;)
Let's tell them most stuff has already been fixed :)

ive also contacted them directly on both their forums and to personnel at thier site and im awaiting a reaction.

I personally think its a knee jerk reaction (did i spell that right :p), but i have a BLU +and im happy with it and im sure that many new software will be blu + compatible and older software will be re-released to be BLU+ compatible.

MY advice is dont worry ;)

You are right, let's hope someone will fix OpenSnes and Doom soon :)
But it also looks like nobody cares about "scan line bug", as there is no fix for it, at least as far as I know.

well, if they changed their banner, they don't hesitate anymore... wish they get some BLU+ in stock, i don't mind as most of the soft are corrected. They should just put it back , and put some warning on the page... i want one , come on liksang...

Guys, Lik-Sang will probably start selling GP32 again soon (I hope :) I think (it's just my theory) the reason they stop selling is that one day after selling for example 100 or more or less Blu+ they got like about 80 mails from customers who wanted to return them because of their "screen fault". In such a situation, well, if you don't want to loose more money (you need to return money to customer and actually GP32 is not broken so it cant be returned to Gamepark) you just stop selling stuff just to avoid further looses. But now when situation with Blu+ is quite clear, more software supports new screen, I think Lik-Sang will start selling them again as they are selling other consoles older and newer like NeoGEo Pocket, Dreamcast etc, so there is no reson not to sell Gp32. :)

And as they stop selling it for a moment, I changed a banner because the old one was misleading. If they start to sell it again i will put old banner again.

And if someone wants to buy GP32 should write to Lik-Sang and ask them about GP32. Maybe they still have some in stock.

this is why I was trying to tell everyone NOT to email Lik Sang demanding exhanges and refunds... even at the time you could see people were working on making stuff BLU + compatible... it was fixable, but still everyone went running back to Lik Sang complaining and now they don't even want to bother with them. Two months later and only a handful of stuff has not been fixed and BLU+ owners (who opted not to return their 'faulty' systems) are happy campers.

Well, if not and you live in the EU, you could buy it from craig at gbax.com.
The price seems to be higher - but it isn't. VAT is already included, so you don't have to pay any customs :) So it's basically the same price as Lik-Sang :)
And you don't need to drive to the customs office to get the package...

If you are in the US though there is no way to get them without paying the huge exchange rate increase though. Lik-Sang was much cheaper because of that. Even getting fron Spain etc. is expensive because of the weak USD.

Since Lik-Sang has opened their shipping center in Germany, You can buy stuff from them without getting furtherer taxed, if you live in the EU. The package goes through the shipping center :)

Read about it at http://www.lik-sang.com/europe.php

I ordered a package from them and allthough it was nothing fancy (mem-card, extention-cords), the package was marked as it was shipped from germany. It did however take longer to arrive.

This only works for stuff they have in their German shipping center.
The GP32 is not included. I bought 3 GPs from them, 1 in 2003, the second one last year summer and the last one 22nd of december 2004.

I had to pay customs for all three and all three came from Hong Kong.

Cheap stuff like Memory Cards always go through customs - because the organization of the customs etc. would be higher than the value.
Basically, for all stuff over 50 or 60 Euro you will have to pay customs.

I'm pretty sure not all of the products I ordered were in stock at the EU center, since I was intentionally testing it (like the 16M mem-card for DC). You might be right about the value of the package though.

I ordered a PS2 mem-card, the DC mem-card, 2 extentioncords for DC and 1 for PS2... Hardly a "pricy" order :)

New day, new eMail from Lik-Sang.
I just told them that almost all recent programs have been fixed :)

--------------

Great to hear that the newer software has been fixed and is fully compatible
with the new BLU system. I personally hope we'll start to carry these
handhelds again, but this depends on managment.

--------------

Maybe Lik Sang could start selling them again and include a note informing people to join up at gp32x.de. So not only would they be able to join in the scintillating caht that goes on here but they would have access to all the BLU+ software at their fingertips as it is released (or added to the site anyway, which seems to be really fast).

Hey, just a thought.
