Okay so we know these are Possible:

NES, SNES, SMS, MD, GB, GBC, GG, ST, PCE, ZX, C64 etc..

It got me thinking.. what about these, which of the following are Possible?

Amiga - (we have ST, is there much difference?)
Arcade - (Roms newer than the ones we can run now)
Neo Geo - (This is one id love to see! it would be a real challenge to do but is it possible?)

Amiga is the one i mainly wanna have for GP32, so is it possible?

do some reasearch before you post a fukin stupid topic. These questions have been asked and answered so many times b4.

get stuffed sponge, i asked a perfectly normal question, even if it has been posted before, just ignore it and dont post you complete moose!

...dick

Amiga is unlikely due to the custom chips involved (so i'm told) which is a shame cuz it had some awesome games, you'll have to make do with Atari St versions of which there are plenty and more often than not they arent much different and occasionally better if 3d based.

Yea Sponge, you dont have to be a tard.

Erm, im not too bothered about amiga and arcade (unless its something like newer arcade games) And workbench would be nice.

Neo Geo would be nice also.

I think Amiga would be possible, its been said by many devs but it would need alot of time put into it.

Remember nevber say never - the DC recently got Neo Geo CD emulation which was on the list of systems it couldnt emulate so there :p

Amiga: No - too complicated. It was a lot more than the ST.
Arcade: fMame32 on the way, expect only stuff upto 1986/1987 with only simple games like Snow Bros from the years afterwards
Neo Geo: More complicated than the Amiga. Nuff said!

thanx for the SENSIBLE replies, no thanx to immature pathetic sponge... loser!

I hope someone is able to fix the amiga chip issue! and what you say about "Never say Never" is so true!

Thanx again!

all i was sayin that it was pointless to repost the questions when you could have found your answers easily by doing a little research.

Squidge was programming a amiga 500 emu but i think he has stopped development. He said he hadnt touched it in ages last time i asked him.

And the Neo Geo CD had 8MB of ram making it an extremly hard system to emulate on a console with only 8MB. The dreamcast has 16MB Ram.

Fmame will be nice tho.....

Be careful, I don`t think you are making any friends with this...

To answer your question:
I don`t think we will ever see Amiga and NeoGeo emulation on the gp32.
And if you are hoping of playing games like Metal Slug with a mame, forget it.
It will not be possible.
The roms are to large (the gp32 has not enough ram) and require too much power to be run at an acceptable speed (if they would be able to run).

Oh, and you could have done a little research, thats what the search button was made for.

Sponge... you do realize that as time goes on the answers to these questions can change right? 2 months ago did we have a Genesis em with sound and full speed? no.

Seriously, if all we ever did was looked up things that had been previously discussed there would be no new conversation and debate on this board... and really no community. As we all know just about anything that can be asked about the gp32 has already been asked about on this board... so perhaps the whole board should be archived and locked and we'll just use it as a library of information. Sponge you were a newbie once too, and I'm sure if we could go back to that time period we'd find some topics you started that could have been answered with the search function... we all did it when we started here... so go easy.

Even fMAME will be very slow with sound, the guy making it said so. So MAME really won't be very well emulated unless you like playing games with no sound.

wasnt there a Neo Geo emu released ??????? I seem to remember a Neo Geo in one of the GBAX Compos I think it was

fmame will still be nice slow or not....... rlyeh is amazing

Steve-o, the neogeo emulator your refering to was a neogeo pocket emulator. A nice emulator but it does not emulate the neogeo console.

I think that's the handhelds:
Neo Geo pocket
Neo Geo Colour pocket

It's a great emu, I think it hasn't been updated for a long time though.

Anyway an alternative to the question asked at the beggining is as follows. The Neo Geo was mainly full of fighting games (try KOF and many alternative roms on high def consoles, eg Genesis aka Megadrive). The other extremely popular game it had was Metal Slug, there's a homebrewn game of this, you can only kill arabs and I think the games long dead but it really does show what's possible. Also there's clones of Metal Slug on the Neo Geo pocket Colour (made by the orignals ;) ).

Also, wasn't the mame emu up to 1990?

EDIT: After research:
Ryleh posted on His forums said:
if I dont use cyclone, yes... probably pre 87 or so...
if I use cyclone, hmm... maybe pre 92 or pre 91 :)

Huh? No emus are nice when they are slow. They aren't very playable when slow.

Actually when a couple games with fast action slow down, you can think faster than the AI a bit and make a couple critical saves. When Zelda: LTTP runs a bit slow on SNES9X (no sound, but still), I can run circles around the enemies... The easier enemies get boring, but hey, at least the bosses get a bit easier.
