Heya. Seems Lik Sang are doing a reduced price on the FLUs (£69, according to the page converter), and what with people saying FLU is better than BLU, is it worth getting one?

I checked out GBAX, but after going through checkout, the whole "oh btw, made you get this far, let's add £20 VAT ontop and stick the price to £144" part kinda made me think about the new generation of handhelds... or a pocket PC. I've always wanted a GP32, and have been waiting a while to get money, I finally get some through the sale of my old laptop, and find out i'm woefully under the amount needed, because the price seen isn't the price you end with.

Also people are on about bad stock of BLUs, blue lines and such from Lik Sang. Does this apply to FLUs too?

Thanks :)

No the FLU is not better than the BLU. The screen is far better on the BLU, the FLU is washed out and has terrible contrast with the light on.

i have a FLU with a scratch on the screen but a spare screen. the case has a few nicks on it but i would sell it for 45-50 quid.
Oooh... What does that convert to in $$$?

P.S.: I've checked Lik-Sang and it says its still $129... did I do something wrong?

The price hasn't dropped. It's just lik-sang's prices are in usd, and the gbp is at it's highest against the usd for 12 years.
because the price seen isn't the price you end with.
gbax clearly state on all pages that prices don't include vat. It's not something they suprise you with when you get to the checkout.

@Worldwriter: Did you get the dust out?
How's it look. I might want to get a cheap
flu for some reason or another someday.

Damn the FLU is only $130 at Liksang now, and wtf the BLU comes with a SMC and a RF Module... Mine came with nothing at that price. Damn

That annoyed me a little, too. I ordered mine only a couple months ago, and then they offer this cool deal. <_<

That's a sweet price for a FLU, though.. I just might have to consider one of those sometime in the future.

I'll take a pic when I get a chance... it's clear silicone and I'd have to say that if and when I ever sell this unit I'll have to tell the buyer that the silicone is a bit more noticable than I'd wanted but which would they rather, a rough rubber around the grey or a dusty screen?

I did not remove the small amount of dust that was already in as it is only noticable when playing in extreme darkness...

as a note, can dust get to the screen through the speaker holes? or is that shoddy border the only concern?

Ok I looked and eventually found the bit about VAT in the top left of the GP32 page. I don't think it's very clear though. I think it should go more along the lines of: "Members of the EU please note that prices stated are prior to VAT being added." or something to that effect.
I would have also thought a note or link to the VAT statement would be written next to each item price like I have seen on other sites. The fact that a few people have mentioned this seems to suggest that a rethink on the way that they notify you of the extra charge is needed.

$0.02
