on the site gameboy-advance.net you can read something about flash cards
http://www.gameboy-advance.net/flash_card/..._card_works.htm

you can read there, that you have to insert the Flash Card into the Linker to
write roms on them.

i thought that it's possible to write things on them when they are in the gameboy.
Or are there different flash cards?

I want to buy a EZF advance 256m flash card,
or a flash2advance ultra 256m flash card.
do i have to buy a writer too?

and maybe you can tell me too which card is the best?! ;)

Presumably it depends on the flash cart. Some can be written to while in the gameboy - mine, for example. Others may well need a flash device.

No idea which is the best though - try asking on a GBA homebrew board for the best range of answers though, methinks :)

i have flash2advance
so yeh, you can usually only fit like 3 games on at a time, unless you deal w the smaller ones.

i mean - i bought it for pocketnes specifically, at the time (awhil before i invested in GP32) so not really a big issue. but it's cool to dip in every now and again.

i haven't been keeping current with the scene, surely there's better cards/writing software/etc by now. but nothing i'll ever buy.

I think its an XG2 - I actually won it in a competition before I've gotten hold of a GBA - and I've still to do so lol. So I haven't a clue, suffice to say that it sounds like it'll do a perfectly good job. Which is the important thing.

i heard on some other thread on this site that there was a gba flash cart that you could stick cf cards into
can any one confirm this?

Keks, the card will likely come with the writer/USB cables/whatever you need to use it. Just make sure you buy the "kit" not just a sole card.
