Just getting back into things here...

Seems like LJGP32 is locked at 133Mhz. My GP32 BLU is able to do higher, so is there a way to OC in LJGP? I don't see any way to change it so far.

My reason is things are a bit slow with the stretch and vsync on, but it looks really good that way. So I wonder if 166Mhz would solve that.

Well, you could either:

A ) Edit and recompile the v0.3 sources to run at 156MHz

B ) Get in touch with YoyoFR and request the v0.4 source, then recompile that

C ) Decompress the FXE and hex-hack in a new clock speed (see http://www.gp32world.co.uk/modules.php?op=...&artid=9&page=1 for guide; be warned that audio pitch will rise accordingly with CPU clock!)

D ) Attempt to stuff the internals of a Game Theory Admiral inside the GP32 shell.

Well, maybe not.

How the hell Lj can be slow at 133 Mhz (even with stretch) whereas NES emu is perfect on a 16 Mhz GBA?

possibly as the GP32 has to do the stretch in software and not hardware and add over head?

Fuck around with the settings and you can get full speed without frameskip on 133mhz. Toggle the sound settings and turn vsync off for example.

except the mega man series, every game requires vsync=on and fs=1
i can't believe people can play with vsync=off. i really get headache and its no good gameplay and fun.

Interesting. Basically you have to compromise a little.

LJ NES is better on the Zodiac in terms of speed and display, faster and full screen with smoothing etc. But the GP32's controls are much more comfortable and accurate (that analog pad is annoying for 8way movement, and the clicky buttons aren't too comfy). So for actual gameplay I prefer using the GP32.

If only I could squish my Z and BLU together into one perfect system... :p

This version hasn't been touched in ages. If it was optimised a bit I would bet it would be full speed w/v-sync on the GP32. I don't think that the scaling on the GP32 looks to good especially when the resolution is so close to native, and there is no smoothing. I always just play it 1:1. Maybe try to get used to playing 1:1 and it will look better and be faster than when scaled up even if a bit smaller.

couse the gba can map 90% of the nes chips to its own custom chips, they are very similr, same go to snes

Not to mention that the GBA doesn't have to stretch as the GBA screen is lower res than the NES. The GBA actually cuts out resolution to match the low res GBA screen.

I've noticed that it's a tad slow too. I compared it to the real system, and there's a noticeable difference. Not slow as in dropping frames because it is very smooth, slow as in the emulator acts slower than the actual nes system. It probably has something to do with the timing programmed in the emu itself, but that's just my guess.

I don't know how mild screen tearing can give you a headache. I'll admit that it does look better with vsync on, but I wouldn't sacrfice battery life for it.

The timing is a bit off though, its not as slow as PAL, but not as fast as NTSC, its somewhere in the middle. Doesn't really matter to me, I enjoy playing fSMS and the timing on that is way off.
