****IT REALLY WORKS NOW*** UPDATED CHECK OUT THE LAST POST I DID***
Ok so here I was sitting around. WAITING for the DIY or FLU or whatever it is to become available.
I said to myself why not make a light instead. So I did.
I took that "do it yourself" wormlight guide *sorry I forgot the link to it* and I created myself a wormlight that I can connect into the EXT port of the GP32.

I went to http://www.hyupjininc.com/eng/product/3050_1802pin.htm.
I found the part I needed and got 10 FREE samples of these connectors from them. In FACT, I ordered them on Tuesday and got it Wednesday ALL THE WAY FROM SOUTH KOREA, I was way impressed since I live in the US.

So anyway....after the connectors came, I went out..bought a wormlight (the wrong one by the way) and followed the instructions.

Once I finished building it, I plugged it in and POOF......it worked!!
Kinda...
Ya see I bought a worm light with a capacitor that was soldered on the chip itself. This capacitor is supposed to help the light be brighter and not drain the battery power so quickly. Thus once I connected the Gp32 to the light (without the capacitor) it was a very weak light source.
BUT...(the good part) It worked!! ANDDD...I bought the right wormlight afterward. Now I will have the correct wormlight and know how to build it without worrying about every little step. This next one I am building, (in theory) should be 70% brighter..and a hellava lot better.
So I say screw the DIY...(for now). I have no doubt the do it yourself DIY/FLU is coming, but now since I have my wormlight, I am playing in a Dark Room as much as possible not worrying about when the real official FLU is coming.

Which brand of wormlight works best for you? Also, was the soldering difficult, I mean were you scared you might ruin something? (I have never soldered before) Thanks

Me Too! Dear god, Me too!

No, but seriously, how did you get the free connectors? and can you post some piccys of your final light?

Cheers! ;)

well guys, I went to that site I posted before and just asked them if I could have 1 sample of that specified part #. Basically I told them I would be building an adaptation of a light that connects to a handheld device and I wanted to try out there product. I emailed them 1 day and later that day they replied to what quantity I wanted. I couldn't believe it.

On the soldering side of things, it wasn't too difficult at all. I too never soldered before, but all you had to do was solder the ground wire to pin 18 and the 3.3v wire to pin 1. thats it....its that easy. No opening up the Gp32 because theres no need too. All your doing is soldering the wormlight to the EXT I/O connector. Its a simple procedure. I warn you though you have to take your time. If you are anxious or inpatient to get it done....you could technically blow your Gp32....or the light just won't work. As long as you follow the instructions..... your all good.
Now as far as the rest of my connectors go. AS much as I wouldn't mind sending them out to all you nice folks. I already gave 5 to my friend (he's working on another project *top secret*with them). Lets just say he's trying to get mobile communication to work with the GP32. I now have 4 left.... I would like to try and perfect the wormlight production and the quality....so I am going to do some experimentation to see how the best way to use the wormlight for the Gp32 will be.
Finally, once I build my second wormlight (the correct light this time), IF it works I ll post some pics. I wasn't going to post them if the quality of the wormlight wasn't up to my standards. If you all like me to post them anyway...I will.

mobile communicator, huh? About time someone experimented.

;) this is depressing this was the thing i was going to do after seeing a guide on it when i got my gp32 but i just couldn't get hold of the connectors in the uk time to send some emails :) :)

Yup, I just sent them an e-mail. See how good my luck is!! :D Thanks TJFBryant!!

Well, I hope the company helps all of you guys out with the part connectors. I don't know if they will give all of you FREE samples...BUT I know the purchasing price for 5 of them is 1.50 US dollars for the package. Good luck to all of you, and When I do my second wormlight to work on, I ll post a few pics whether it works better than the first one or not.

Hmm wonder what the P&P+Shipping will be to UK and USA, did you have to pay for shipping when you got the free samples?

nope..they paid for the entire package.....shipping, handling, tax, everything.
Like I said I don't know how it will be for other people, but I can tell you just what I experienced. I personally was very grateful and impressed with this mobile communication part company.

me?? sell them?? Well, if I perfected the process how much would all of you be willing to purchase them for...INCLUDING shipping??
Of course I couldn't take credit for the idea to create this wormlight, that goes to phoda I believe....SO I think if the wormlight was perfected and worked well enough to sell, I would ask Phoda for permission to mass produce the wormlight.

What are you guys looking for, pricewise for the wormlight? The know the light itself was 12 US$ ...so the question is....How many think it is worth it for me or anyone to mass produce this GP32 adaptation.?? Talk to me guys....whats your thoughts??

*hint*ebay sells them rather cheap ive seen them as low as $3.Also make sure you buy the grey ones otherwise doesnt look to great with any other colors

anyways i think $13
