Hi Guys..
..freshly reflashed my Pandora and thought:
Hmm why do i not try Android again.
With the little Yalp Store (an Alternative to Playstore)...i got a Netflix APK which is working fine:
https://yalp-store.de.uptodown.com/android

see this here in my Youtube Video:

I will try that Setup from the SD Card soon with my CC or Rebirth Pandora and i think i can work there too.

But you can help me too.
There was a Workaround to use in Android an USB Wlan Dongle as first Wlan Device..but i did not find that Information more.

Thanks to @notaz for getting Android on our Pandora :)

btw: this was the standard SGX Driver.

Edit:
Found the Trick to get a external Wlan Dongle working in Pandora Android:
pretty simple trick I used to make my usb wifi work in android

  • make sure you have the usb stick plugged in and enabled.
  • open terminal
  • if you type iwconfig and hit enter you will see your 2 network connections.
  • enter sudo mousepad /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules (you may want to back up this file just in case)
  • Hit Enter and enter password (I think pandoras come loaded with mousepad)
  • in this file you should have 2 lines which dont start with # these are the lines we are looking at.
  • scroll all the way to the right and you will see one has name="wlan0" and the other is names "wlan1" simply switch them over so the 1 is a 0 and 0 a 1. (you may want to back up this file just in case)
  • give a reboot
  • now if you do iwconfig you will see the numbers have switched, if you start up android now and connect to the wireless lan as normal open the terminal emulator and do iwconfig you will see its the new card connected at a higher rate (e.g my onboard said connected at 1mbps my usb says 150mbps)

Yep i have netflix on my android install. Used it a few years ago.

Now my Pandora isn't used much since i have a cheap more capable chromebook. I also waffle on if i want/need the pyra anymore given the same capabilities on the chromebook (and more) with much less cost and that even now it has been 1+ month since the case stuff has been moved and the new dev units haven't even gone out.

The only upside to the pyra/pandora are the sd card slots the controls and the size

Yeah, I also have Netflix installed for a while already. It worked prett well for Anime but less good with regular series/movies. That could also have to do with my wireless issue I always have in Android. The Wi-Fi just keeps on disconnecting and has very low reception (one stripe, or just the dot really).
Also the battery status isn't updated unless the Pandora is powered externally... Oh well... Android 2.3.. :) I mainly use it for spotify on my Pandora, if ever... It would be sweet if it could be optimized more on the Pyra.
What really impressed me on the Pandora is Moonlight, I once made some video's...

I made yesterday the Pandora Android much more Slim.
Deleted many Apps..
..replaced the Launcher with a more Tiny Launcher,
..deleted the big Memory Hungry Playstore.

Android runs much faster now here.
Maybe i can release that Changes for Anyone who need
a faster Pandora Optimized Android.

Strange that the Pandora Internal Wifi of my Device is realy fast under Android.
I renembering many Wlan Connection Problems with Android and i figured out that mostly Updates and Googles Communitcations crash the Wlan Connection.

My Slim Android is working much better now.

Maybe it have to do with @notaz last Kernel Release to the Stable Version in the Middle of last Year.

Unfortunaly i cannot use the Nubs as Mouse...
..that would be a realy good Gimmick.

But Mouse?
You can Activate Bluettooth in Zaxxon,
connect a Bluetooth Mouse,
and when you now start Android...the Mouse is working inside Android.
Was realy surprising for me.

So you can
-boost your Wifi with a WlanDongle
-use a Bluetooth Mouse
-watch Netflix on TV with the TV Out and Without Copy Protection(shure no HD here)

...yay.

I am Happy now with Android.

BTW..i had managed to install Chainfire3D for better 3D Support on it.

For these who want to play with Android on the Pandora..here is my Speed Optimized Copy:

Simply extract this ZIP File onto the Root of your Pandora SD Card (unpacked around 4GB)

For downloading Games and other Things..Yalp Store ist integrated.
Yalp Store download APKs directly from Google.

For installing Apks you should insert another SD Card on the other Pandora Slot.

Happy Trying ;)

Things i did:
- removed/deleted all unneeded Software
- installed Yalp Store
- disabled many many Things for getting Android faster
- installed a much more Tiny Launcher named Zeam Launcher
- managed to install CF3D for more OpenGL Settings and faster 3D Driver

Edit:
to search Software in Yalp Store you must press fn+2

Thanks @ingoreis, your efforts really did make Android faster. Good job!
My internal Wi-Fi did not keep up with the Netflix video stream but the little wlan0 wlan1 renumber trick did the job.
With my Wi-Fi stick as primary connection Netflix plays decent enough to be able to watch something without interruptions, albeit with some frame skips.
The spotify install in your image does not run for me though, I'll try to reinstall that.

Thumbs up!

I do not have a Spotify Account for testing.
Even no Facebook Account here from my Side.

But i maybe consider to make a Spotify Account for me.

The installed APK was only for Tests. ;)

Hello, thanks for your article, I downloaded netflix apk to my phone, but it doesn't seem to work because the version is too old, so I downloaded the netflix mod apk latest version, and It worked very well, thanks for listening
